Very LATE reaction to the season finale

Look. I don't care what we're going to have to do, or when we're going to do it. You're out of your mind if you think for even a second that I'm going to leave Henry behind with those two.

...and who we're working with right now to get him back isn't exactly the issue here, is it?

I think in this case, we need them. David and I don't know this land like we do the Enchanted Forest. Working together is the best chance we have.

[Even though she trusts Hook as far as she could throw him.]

Neverland, right?

[The Enchanted Forest and Neverland both being seperate worlds definitely made things a lot more complicated than they needed to be.]

To be honest, I don't care who it is we're working with, we just need to work together to find Henry.

[...but yeah, her trust for Hook is shaky at best- and she doesn't completely find herself trusting Gold either.

Regina is a whole other story.]

[Working with Gold and Regina is certainly... complicated. Luckily, Henry seems to be the one thing they can be united on. She hopes it's enough.]

We will. It might not be easy, but we're going to just have to put our histories together aside, at least until Henry is safe. As for Hook... I think David will keep a close eye on him.

[David keeping an eye on Hook is definitely a reassurance to Emma.]

Let's just hope that globe of Gold's can find Henry like it found Neal.

[That slips out before she can stop it, but afterwards she just sets her lips in a thin line. Neal is gone, there's no point in her dwelling over it any more now with Henry in danger.]

I don't think it's failed him so far.

[She frets over the way Emma's wall briefly wavers and restrengthens.]

How are you doing?

[It's uttered softly and meaningfully. She's not talking about Henry anymore. Neal's loss is something they hadn't much time to talk about, and Mary Margaret doesn't want to push it. Sooner or later the wall will break, and her mother and father will be here for her when it does.]

[Luck hasn't been on Emma's side in quite some time. It seemed that the second something good returned to her life, it was torn away again. That only served to make her wall more and more impenetrable.

Mary Margaret was one of the only people in the world that could get past it a little.]

I'm fine. ...I'll be fine. ..I have to be.

[Right now, she doesn't have time to grieve. That can come later.]

No, you don't.

[She gives her a look, lips pressed tightly together, and takes a deep breath through her nose, conceding.]

I understand. You want to stay focused. But trust me, Emma... grief ... has a way of pushing in even when we try to shut it out. You've been through so much. If you need help bearing it, please let me.

I...I know. I know.

[Just give her time. Time is something she doesn't have, but it's something she needs, desperately. Time to sort out her emotions, as well as time to get Henry back before it's too late.]

..And I will. But I....I don't think Neal would be too happy if I spent what little time I do have worrying about him when Henry's out there, kidnapped to another world.

[...and that slipped out too, because Mary Margaret didn't mention Neal at all.]

I'm not telling you to stop worrying about Henry so you can mourn Neal. I know you can't do that. But you're not alone in this. I'm just saying that it's okay to let yourself feel. Even if it's just for a minute.

[Maybe, you know, in an empty cabin of a pirate ship with your mother's arms around you. She's so close to saying it, but she knows Charming would've probably put a gentle hand on her by now to remind her to stop pushing.]

[No matter how tight-lipped Emma is being about this, she really does appreciate Mary Margaret's concern. Something waaay deep down inside longs for that comfort right about now, but that can wait. It has to wait.]

...Thanks. But I know. I think beyond having to fight for Henry, the only thing that keeps me going is the fact that I'm not alone.

[And despite everything, this makes her happier than Emma can know. It's all she can hope for, that her daughter doesn't see herself as alone anymore. She has her family. Her mom and dad. No matter what.]

You certainly aren't. We'll find him. It's what we do.
