You do realise you can't handle any more so bringing me in would require you to drop the other guy. And, uh, you like him a lot more than you do me, even if you think [He smirks.] I'd be a lot more fun. Of course I am. I'm Tony Stark, fun is what I do.

[He makes shooing motions.] Stop thinking about it, I'm telling you it's a bad idea and I know bad ideas. [Even if he often went through with his own...]

[The touch sends a shiver up her spine and Pepper averts her eyes again.]

I was only kidding about those. And I know I could but that wouldn't be very moral, would it? As for the vacations, I think that even if I did go without telling you, you'd track me down. [She gives him a slight smile at the last part, sighing.] But at least I wouldn't have to worry about you.

[When he takes her hand, Pepper smiles and finally looks up at him before squeezing his hand letting out a laugh allowing herself to take a step closer to him.]

Keep thinking that, Mr. Stark.

[He smiles at her reaction, an honest to god smile instead of one of his trademark smirks or whatever false mask he plasters on for the media.]

You deserve it, you know. You put up with me and that's a full time job-- no, life right there. And yeah, I could track you down. JARVIS already does that. I don't actually watch everything you do, that'd be creepy, he just kind of keeps tabs for me.

[He threads his fingers through hers, noting her petite hands (very important, his life was saved by those).]

I'm sure I have people out there who are willing to testify to that.

[She chuckles before it spreads into a warm smile once she sees his.]

Regardless whether or not that's true, I'm still not going to give myself a raise. The board would have a problem with that. I kind of figured...there had to be some way you'd show up places that I didn't expect you to.

[She smiles at him amused before kissing his nose lightly.]

Well I'd have Rhodey on my side and I'd say his testimony would outnumber and outrank whoever you would manage to testify. Or would that have to be a job for Director Fury?

[He screws his face up a little bit and pouts as if to say she is kissing the wrong body part here.]

The board wouldn't if something happened to draw their attention away to something more important than your salary. Theoretically. And by the time they notice they'd agree that you should keep it. It'll keep things fun.

I'm a private civilian with a medal and a lot of money. Rhodey and Fury to get paid to do heroic stuff. I didn't privatise world peace for the money so obviously I trump them.

[And just admit he's right because he is going to dive in for the kill lips.]

[She laughs again.] Tony, I'm not going to increase my salary and you're not going to do anything that will draw the board's attention away theoretical or not.

That - [Oh, hello, lips. She's cut off mid-sentence and is shocked for a moment before she rolls her eyes and kisses him back, murmuring against his lips.] is so like you to think that.

[He drops the hand at her neck and places it on her waist, tugging her closer.]

I'm pretty sure... [Another soft press of the lips.] you find it quite endearing.

Oh really? [She raises an eyebrow, placing a hand lightly on his face as she kisses him back.]

You seem rather confident about that.

[He leans into her touch, chasing after her every time she pulls back.]

[As he pulls her closer to him, their noses bump lightly and she can't help but let out a laugh. She continues to tease him a little longer before releasing her hand from his so that she can wrap her arms around his neck.]

I suppose that's true. [She kisses him lightly,giving him a teasing smile.] You're lucky I put up with you as much as I do.

[Ah, ah, ah. Pepper's hand snakes away form his neck and stops his hand moving it back up and she gives him a look even though there's a hint of a smile on her face.]

Of me? Now you're teasing me. I don't think anyone would be envious about that job.

I think that 'hanging out with you' has caused me to shave several years off of my life. They didn't mention the worry that would come with the job in the job description.

[Although the kissing is nice, he's still sort of awkward about people touching it after what happened the last time someone touched it. He does his best to hide his discomfort though.]

[She's known him for too long though and she gives him an apologetic look, quickly cupping his face with her hands and squeezing it lightly at his comment.]
