Look mun, I get it. You're excited.

Anyone would be in your situation - you've spent an age with writers block in a fandom you weren't feeling too sure about anymore.

But then you find a new series; then you find a new me and the words start flowing and of course you want to app me places. It makes all the sense in the world.

But logically? Come on. Let's stick with the plan at Vatheon. One game is enough right now. You have Percy and Leo there and all your powers; no point being greedy. You don't want to overwhelm yourself with tags, do you?

One game is usually enough, but if th mun likes you enough, then you end up in more places. Even if it means being overwhelmed.

Of course. Most I've been in is two. Only in one currently though, but mun wants to take me to another game when things settle and she has a computer.

Oh. [ This is new territory for Annabeth ] I didn't realise it was kinda normal. How do you go when you're in two games?

It depended really, as they both were very different games. It depends fully how one can handle it and that time, I just couldn't.

[ Annabeth feels a little sorry for the girl. It can't be easy being thrown into two different worlds at once. It was bad enough falling into the Underworld. ] I know I can handle it but I'm not sure my mun can. She's terrible at making plans and sticking to them. Not in the flakey way [ she hastens to add ]. More in the ADHD way.

Best to just wait and see what happens. If things look like they are going well, then good on you.

Plans can change sometimes. Besides, if anyone can multitask across two games, I'd say it's you.

Sometimes. In certain circumstances. It's not me I'm worried about though. [ She takes the compliment without an ounce of modesty and shrugs. ] It's her.

[ Then she's smiling. ] Good to see you.

You too. It's been a while. Longer than I'd have liked. [ You're in the Underworld, he's in a weird alternate version of New York. There's a lot of space between them. ]

You know, maybe she's better than you think. Sometimes if you're loud enough then they'll have to take you somewhere. Is there nowhere you want to go?

Same here. Have you seen anyone else? [ Yeah there's that whole pesky underworld thing. Except in one case which had her landing in Vatheon instead of Tartarus, but that's a whole nother story. ]

Maybe. I haven't known her long so there's always the chance I'm wrong. I wouldn't mind a few places but I'd rather have people I know there first.

Leo and I are in a place. It's kind of like New York, but it's not...our New York. There's no Camp Half-Blood, and there's a lot of things that really aren't where they should be.

[ That still confuses him. Alternate universes are weird, and it's far easier not to think about the mechanics. ]

It's kind of weird. It's a City full of superheroes, and I don't mean just demigods. I mean the kinds of superheroes who wear capes and have secret identities. It took some getting used to.

[ A pause. ] Leo loves it.

[ Annabeth can see that the alternative universe thing doesn't sit quite right with him. She knows the feeling, even if the idea of them doesn't confuse her. ]

And you don't? [ a beat] Never did get into the whole idea of superheroes. Must be weird living with a bunch of them. [ Not seeing the irony in this statement. Then she lets out a small laugh. ] I bet Leo loves it.

I don’t. I’d rather be doing what I’m supposed to be doing. [ Getting to Greece. Fighting past an army. Meeting Annabeth and Percy at the Doors of Death, if they survive...

No, of course they’ll survive. They have to. He can’t let anyone see his doubts, especially not Annabeth herself. ]

I’ve been in the City for six months now. It is weird. [ Everyone uses cell phones and watches TV, how’s he supposed to deal with that? ] It’s kind of frustrating to have left so much unfinished. The City has its own problems, though. Different kinds of monsters.
