wouldciteregulation: (I'm actually really nervous right now)

You already 'play' one Vulcan. I see no purpose in, as you put it, 'collecting' another.

My place is in Starfleet, you have acknowledged that. It would be logical to allow me to continue my work on Enterprise. I'm certain you'll find other amusements.

Or need I remind you that my work is primarily in the science division, and that physics has a tendency to give you a headache?

It still remains a mystery to me, though not one I have been focused on unraveling.

I've yet to hear you complain, Mr. Spock.

[His turn for !!!]

I have referred to my dissatisfaction with my mundane's habits frequently.

[Vulcan evasion is go.]

You can complain about their habits all you want, Spock. But in the moment? Doesn't seem so very difficult to obtain your full attention and cooperation.

They are skilled at executing the right moment.

[He's not going to say they "find" it. They know precisely what they're doing.]
original_fine: (playful: well actually...)

[personal profile] original_fine 2012-02-20 08:07 am (UTC)(link)
Uh-huh. Well, they deserve some credit, then, at least. Surely humans who can so deftly uncover Vulcan secrets can't be all idiots.

[personal profile] vulcans_never_bluff 2012-02-20 08:14 am (UTC)(link)
I have encountered enough humans with sufficient intelligence to know that they are generally capable of possessing it. Even if they are emotional, irrational, and unstable.

They are also, however.... difficult.

I don't think I need to remind you that you chose a career which placed you, in the main, amongst humans and their difficulties.

But clearly, I will.

[personal profile] vulcans_never_bluff 2012-02-20 09:02 am (UTC)(link)
I chose a career which place me on the flagship of an interstellar exploration fleet. It did make my previous observation possible. I have noticed up to three hundred forty-five point seven crew members acting with proficiency during restrictive and dangerous situations.

[0.7 is Bones.]
original_fine: (neutral: oh yeah?)

Point seven. I always find it amazing, that you can pinpoint human frailty to such a degree.

Precise measurement should not be influenced by emotion.

[And just as likely; he doesn't like to see his crewmates under stress and it's his way of taking notice.]
original_fine: (happy: chuckle)

[personal profile] original_fine 2012-02-20 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
That's just it--I find it interesting that you believe human emotional states can be measured objectively.

[personal profile] vulcans_never_bluff 2012-02-21 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Objective measurements prone to frequent fluctuations. It is an exercise in mental calculation and reevaluation.

Exhausting, Mr. Spock. I'll rely on good old-fashioned intuition.

[personal profile] vulcans_never_bluff 2012-02-21 04:39 am (UTC)(link)
One day you will have to explain the function of your "intuition" in greater detail.
original_fine: (playful: uh-huh)

feel free to ingore, I know it's been ages. <3

[personal profile] original_fine 2012-03-21 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Surely you have statistics on my success rate when relying on said quality, Mr. Spock. The numbers should speak for themselves.

Also, sorry Ari >.>

[personal profile] vulcans_never_bluff 2012-03-28 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
All the more reason an explanation would be necessary, or at least a study into the matter as observable unusual phenomena.
original_fine: (neutral: apple)

[personal profile] original_fine 2012-03-28 05:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I think explaining it would be very difficult, which is more or less the whole point.

You're welcome to observe whatever you like, however, Mr. Spock.
