[Cathy's weight is settled on the balls of her feet as she moves with somewhat restless energy. Her expression seems almost eager as a sly smile spreads across her face and her head cants to the side.]

Alright, a year is a long enough time to get your energy back for me, especially since the place you're sending me seems pretty sedate compared to back home. And hey, we don't have to talk about what's going on with the "encouraged" physical contact hoodoo they've got going on there, or the fact that you're casually considering whether or not you want to lobotomize me and take me there without my previous game memories.

I've just got one thing to say and it's this: If you want to do this? Then let's really do it. Finish the app, and we can go full throttle! Give me things to do, give me trouble, and I'll lead the charge myself.

What is it John would say right about now, "Once more unto the breach," or something, yeah? Well alright. Bring it.

[With a wink she adds:]

Can't say I'd be complainin'. Been a while since we've been able t'punch the bag together, yeah? Space wasn't the same without you or Tobes 'round.

[ He grins a bit. ] Bet you'd be good t'have 'round durin' the cold. Dunno 'bout humans, but snugglin' up in the caves's the only way lizards like me make it through the winter.

[She'd comment about how space wasn't the same without him, because he left her first, but then she's beat that dead horse into the ground and then some. Besides, it's nice to know she was missed and that's the important part.]

Don't think I'd call it a necessity persay but it sure makes it a hell of a lot easier to make it through. You get cold easy?

S'a reason all my suits're made for winter. That and bein' cold means bein' real sick. Gets our furnaces all riled up. Ain't fun.

She's staring. Peering. It's rude but Cathy has seen a lot of stuff but hair that long is not one of them. Already she can think of half a dozen ways having hair like that could go very badly for her in the Nightside...]

[Cathy takes a few steps closer and slings an arm around his shoulders.]

Course, at the game, seems like you might not need as many if everyone's getting all cozy, yeah? We could set up movie nights or something!

[ He looks a little uncertain, gives his chin a rub in thought. Though it certainly says something that he doesn't hesitate to put an arm about her in return, a hand on her back for support. ] If people wanna be 'round me, yeah. Got a way of bein' a walkin', talkin' heater. Movie nights'd be nice though, yeah? Always wanted to get somethin' like that fixed up on the station. Along with that damn karaoke party I never wound up throwin'.

[That was a look Rapunzel was entirely used to. She smiles, spinning a bit so that the golden locks twirled around her feet.]

It's a lot. I know. I'm sorry though. I was asking why you would charge trouble. Shouldn't you avoid that?

[And just like that, she has her easy companionship back. It's nice that they can do this without complications.]

Well we could fix that if we end up there. Movie nights, karaoke nights, the whole shebang.

[She grins.]

Maybe even find a bar to run like old times.

Maybe some people, but if there's danger, someone's got to deal with it, or innocent [and she uses the term liberally] bystanders could get hurt! Better to jump into the fray and fight the good fight than let other people get tangled up in it.

That'd be nice, yeah? Give me somethin' t'do. Ain't good at just spinnin' my wheels. Might even need some help behind the bar if the place's more hoppin' than Sacrosanct was.

Oooooh. I see. So you're not charging into them but charging in the way of them? Oh that makes more sense.

I don't know though, getting people tangled up in things can help you fight the good fight.

[Tapping her chin thoughtfully, she adds:]

You know, maybe I ought to set up a detective business. If there's need. Shouldn't let all my sleuthing skills go to waste, don't you think?

Well if people can hold their own, absolutely, but I'm not in the business just letting others get trampled underfoot.

[She pauses.]

Unless they're bad guys in need of a good trampling in which case I've got some boots that are perfect for kicking ass and taking names.

Guess holdin' the waitress job for Tobes'd be too optimistic of me, yeah?

No point in sittin' on your hands. Though I guess tailin' cheatin' spouses'd be harder in a place where everyone's canoodlin', yeah?

[His mentioning Toby makes Cathy pause a bit, and she bites her lip before finally shrugging.]

You never know. You know how it is with these places. Everyone coming and going, and everything oddly coincidental. But, I don't know what kind of P.I.'s you've got in your world but in mine we deal with bigger problems than cheating spouses!

[Okay, John had taken several jobs beneath his "pay-grade" so to speak because a job was a job, but that didn't mean Cathy wanted to start small! She already had field experience! Sort of!]
