I will say it once, and once only: if fraternal bonds once joined brother and brother, then let that memory rest forever in a plinth wrought of joy alone. But to shackle myself now, when the bonds would affix to one but not the other, would be akin to offering my own flesh again as sheathe to the blade that will not change its course.

For am I not the son of Odin? He whose youth was fraught with battle and glory, fueled not only by wisdom but so too by righteous rage? Certainly, I am yet his lesser — in all but the latter.

[ Of course he says, that is how it believes it to be. What else is there? Even if Thor said he still cared of what they once were or even what they are now, Loki wouldn't believe him. Yet, he doesn't further accuse Thor and make himself look vulnerable or weak by any sense of the word. Instead he wishes to poke and prod and continue to fuel the flames of anger and resentment so that Thor may one day understand just how this feels. ]

Would it be truly wise to turn your back upon me? Why not simply keep your breast bare so I may strike at my leisure as you have always done? Or is it just that you do not wish to see me coming?
