/super/ tentative voice test, possibly looking for a game. (pre-mission 20 haha)
I sincerely hope you know what you're doing, for both of our sakes.
Given the state of the Order, the state of the city -- I don't have any time to waste. And as for the situation on your end .. you've barely made a dent in the "game". You watched the end, yes, but you've only seen so much from earlier on. I don't think you need to be reminded of all that, do you?
[ A small sigh. He's trying to be helpful, really, he is, but -- ]
.. Tread carefully, is what I'm trying to say; and don't be impulsive.

Could you be—? ]
Pardon. [ She excuses herself modestly. ] I do not mean to cause offense. Your face seems so familiar. Your features are known to me; I have seen them once before.

I'm afraid I can't say the same of you; I'm sorry. [ A slight cant of the head; he's curious. Somewhat wary as well, but she seems harmless enough. ] -- Can I ask where you've seen me? Have we .. met, before?

She sees it now, the similarities in the man's features. Dante's eyes, his nose and mouth — though lacking Dante's brashness, the sly curl of his lip. ]
Have you a brother? [ She asks as politely as possible. ]
no subject
I do. [ Though he would not disclose his name; he'd like to see what she had to say, first. ] Although, the look on your face suggests you may have known that already.
no subject
Nodding slight, she lowers her gaze — an engrained habit of politesse. ]
Vergil, then. Surely, you are Vergil. [ A pause, then she curtseys, gracious as can be. ] My name is Alayne.

The very same. It's a pleasure, Alayne. [ As though to return the gesture, he offers a very slight bow. However, when he straightens, his expression is one of curiosity. ] I imagine Dante told you about me?
[ He speaks under the assumption that she's spoken to Dante -- although, in reality, it's not much of an "assumption" anymore. ]

Dante tells me all manner of things, [ she says, shy of musing, something equal parts fond and exasperating coloring her voice behind that veneer of courtesy. ] He considers himself quite the expert on some. Though— [ And here Alayne hesitates slightly. ] —we've spoken of you only in passing.
[ With Vergil gone from the Charon, he had become something of a sore subject for his brother. ] I had hoped to one day meet you.
