/super/ tentative voice test, possibly looking for a game. (pre-mission 20 haha)

I sincerely hope you know what you're doing, for both of our sakes.

Given the state of the Order, the state of the city -- I don't have any time to waste. And as for the situation on your end .. you've barely made a dent in the "game". You watched the end, yes, but you've only seen so much from earlier on. I don't think you need to be reminded of all that, do you?

[ A small sigh. He's trying to be helpful, really, he is, but -- ]

.. Tread carefully, is what I'm trying to say; and don't be impulsive.

[ Forgive the young woman peering at you now, Vergil, but she cannot help but stare a moment. You look familiar — too familiar almost — though she knows you've never met. Still, the resemblance is striking.

Could you be—?
]

Pardon. [ She excuses herself modestly. ] I do not mean to cause offense. Your face seems so familiar. Your features are known to me; I have seen them once before.

[ She regards him much the same as he regards her — caution mixed with curiousity, inquisitiveness tempered by wariness. Her large blue eyes (seemingly guileless) study his face before drifting upwards towards his white shock of hair. Something like recognition then glimmers in her expression. (Had Dante not spoken of the other sons of Sparda? Had he not said they were, unlike him, white of hair?)

She sees it now, the similarities in the man's features. Dante's eyes, his nose and mouth — though lacking Dante's brashness, the sly curl of his lip.
]

Have you a brother? [ She asks as politely as possible. ]

[ So the stranger did have a brother. (Alayne tries not to smile at that, the slightest bit of pride blooming in her chest at having been clever enough to spot the truth.) Depsite the revelation that this was Dante's brother, Alayne tries not to seem too eager. (Dante had said some of the other sons were unkind, though he'd said nothing specifically of his twin.)

Nodding slight, she lowers her gaze — an engrained habit of politesse.
]

Vergil, then. Surely, you are Vergil. [ A pause, then she curtseys, gracious as can be. ] My name is Alayne.

[ The difference between Dante and his brother is not lost on Alayne; in fact, it is the first thing that she notices now that knows her comparison is correct. (And although something about Dante's demeanor endears him to her — yes, inexplicably — it would be a lie to say that Vergil's manners were not welcome.) ]

Dante tells me all manner of things, [ she says, shy of musing, something equal parts fond and exasperating coloring her voice behind that veneer of courtesy. ] He considers himself quite the expert on some. Though— [ And here Alayne hesitates slightly. ] —we've spoken of you only in passing.

[ With Vergil gone from the Charon, he had become something of a sore subject for his brother. ] I had hoped to one day meet you.
