I do not see why you must send me to live aboard the back of a turtle. It certainly sounds quite dull, even if Temeraire is there. There are not any battles to fight, nor any capital to be won. You say things may change, but I cannot see what is so very impressive about this place. Granby will not even be there, and who will take care of him then?

It all sounds very disagreeable, I think.

You are right; it is perfectly dull, and there is nothing at all of interest to see, and you would do much better to stay where you are, and take care of Granby, instead of coming here and taking any more of my crew.

[There's a doubtful twitch of her tail.] I did not take any of your crew, and why do you even have one if it is so perfectly dull?

Because it would not do to fall out of practice, when one is trapped on a giant turtle, and no-one will even bother to tell one why.

I am told there is no Aerial Corps there, at all; are they even properly trained? [DOUBTFUL.]

There is not, but that is all the more reason to start them on drills; they are all of them used to combat, at least, and this way we will be prepared should any harm befall us.

So there is fighting to be had there? [HAH look at how clever she is.]

There is most certainly not, [ok blatant lies] unless you like fighting which nets you no capital, or rewards, at all, and only serves to make you tired, in the end.

[A little huff, there.] It is better than none at all, I suppose.

I should think there would be a great more fighting, at home, which you should like much better.

Oh! Of course, but there is not so very much to do at home anymore, anyhow, Bonaparte is gone.

Why, yes, there was a great battle at Shoeburyness; I do not think you could have forgotten.

At Shoeburyness! But then--

You are having me on, I think. We brought the cure for the plague back, and I was in the London covert, taking a nap: it is quite impossible for there to have been a battle in the meantime, without my having known of it.

That was ages ago, when I was very small. It has been at least a year since.

I am certainly not having you on, you were there, after all; and a number of dragons from the breeding grounds besides, and Lien, also.

Even with the rationing, I wouldn't call Keeliai dull.

But there is nothing to capture and no battles to be won! I suppose lazing about in one's pavilion might be agreeable every so often, but it does sound quite dull to me.

I think the Emperor brought us there to fight something- and the turtle was apparently attacked by the Dead once.

Well, if she did, she should certainly let us fight it. [Or she will have dragons picking fights on her turtle.]
