[Aki's face takes on a color that closely resembles Mitsuru's hair, and makes his cape look pink in comparison. Speaking of, the hood is back up, and pulled around him as much as possible. Words are kind of failing him right now.]

Ah, forgive me. I am Doctor Victor von Frankenstein. Igor is my assistant. I'm not surprised he hasn't mentioned me, or if he even remembers me. It's been several centuries since we were cast adrift in the endless halls, after all.

It's a complicated state of affairs. Even after nearly five centuries, I still haven't been able to pinpoint what caused my experiment to produce what Igor now calls "the Velvet Room."

Igor was closer to Elizabeth, Theodore, and Margaret when the explosion happened. Perhaps he lost his memories in that explosion, or perhaps his mind is constructing memories to fill the gaps as a coping mechanism. It would be hard to say without speaking with him in person.

[Minako blinks, her eyes widening slightly. An experiment, an explosion...it honestly feels like history may have repeated itself in Iwatodai, but...]

What were you trying to do?

I was researching the true nature of the human mind. However, I lacked any kind of control group, a human mind free of the bias and taints of the environment born around them. As such, the only way to correct that and provide more insight into the mind of humans was to create a mind free of outside influence.

I'm just glad the triplets survived the explosion. And the Velvet Room has indeed served its purpose in isolating them from the outside influences of society. Then again, I never dreamed of the true nature of humanity as reflected by the Shadows. Simply fascinating...

Not anymore, no. Humans are subject to time, I exist outside of it now.

I am a scientist, my dear. I seek knowledge for the sake of knowledge. To be honest, I only sought this line of study because I was told not to. The church thought my research was treading on the toes of God. To spite them, I sought to uncover the innermost workings of "God's" masterpiece; the mind.

Creating life where there was none before was just an added bonus. After all, if there were a God, would he truly allow man to spit in his face and live?
