Okay, so you're a little too infatuated with French accents... and Italian ones... and accents in general, yeah, okay; stop your inane babbling. But look on the bright side of this: at least you didn't give me a goddamn Transylvanian accent. [His voice drops to a low, irritated grumbling.] Yes, I know you got the idea from watching Van Helsing. No, you shouldn't do it. And no, I refuse to let you make me part goddamn vampire.

Hopefully your mun can decide on one, and you're not stuck speaking french with a Japanese accent, mon dieu some of us just aren't so lucky.

[Ash sighs theatrically and taps his nails (neatly manicured and gleaming with black and white lacquer) against the sleeve of his red jacket.]

[Ros makes a face, something between pity and amusement.]

I do think that she'll stick with one. [A pause, then a frown.] Then again, she's finicky and that may change...

Munnie says it is something of ah... a "cultural misunderstanding" or some such. It is simply because I have lived in many places and have an ear for language.

[He brushes it off lazily and then glances over with a kittenish grin.]

I suppose my rather overly proud advice would be to stick with the French one, ma chère.

[That gets a chuckle out of the male, and he ruffles his hair with a hand before replying.] Having been many places, one would assume the same for me but I guess I don't have the gift for different dialect.

[He makes a noise in his throat, his amused look disappearing only slightly.]

Shame, really. There's so many interesting languages in the world and it would take extensive work on my part for me to actually learn any of them.

[Something about the somewhat awkward movements the other man is making is endearing. In some ways, the stranger reminds him a bit of Shen, one of maybe three people he ever could have possibly called his friend.]

Ah...I'm being rude, non? My name is Ash. Crimson is my surname, though I doubt any of it will do you any good-- seeing as I conveniently no longer exist anywhere but in this multiverse.

[Ros waves a dismissive hand at the rude comment, used to not getting people's names right off the bat.] Not rude at all, actually; I'm quite used to it. Th'name's Rosier.

[Ros pauses for a moment, not sure if a handshake would be in order or not. He taps his fingers against a leather-clad thigh before shifting his weight from one foot to the other, chiding himself mentally for being such a stickler about physical contact that, for once in a long while, wasn't sexual in some nature.]

[Ash's eyes are trained on that little nervous movement. It's cute in a way, and he wonders what exactly the little tick might mean is moving through the other man's head. Never one to give anything much away too quickly, he reaches up and pretends to be straightening out his hair-- he even yawns a bit, delicate lips parted slightly.]

Mmm, what a pretty name. Ah-- your Mundane is fickle, but perhaps there are worse dispositions. Wouldn't want you to end up stuck anywhere unpleasant or anything. You're far too cute for that.

[What, a compliment about his name and his looks all in one? The corner of Ros's mouth curves up, the pointed end of a tooth managing to peek out from the mostly-smirk, partial-grin. The finger tapping stops as Ros folds his hands behind his back, though he does manage to replace it with a much more silent toe tapping as he lightly rocks back and forth on his feet.]

Yes, I suppose so. She does have her malevolent side, though; even with the short time I've been around, I've seen her completely destroy lives. Amusing as it is to watch, I've been wary about that destructive mind turning its attention to me.

There is some thrill to be had, you know. To have someone else at your mercy. [Another contemplative look, and ice-blue eyes are hooded as Ash glances back to meet Rosier's gaze.]

I know what it's like to toy with others, but now that the game is up... for once, I shall be honest; I don't think that those kinds of things should be used for evil. I was called that, you know. I wanted them to hate me, anyway. Because when I saved them, I would by default, cease to exist. Maybe that way...I thought I wouldn't leave any holes behind.

I know that feeling too. Perhaps not in the way you did, however. [He falls silent as the other continues to talk, making a small humming noise.] I usually just push people away, don't get to know them and don't let them know much about me. But then again, I've never had my life on the line for someone else's.

I was able to complete my mission, even if it was a bit messy in the end. That's all I cared about. The "me" that I showed to so many doesn't exist... I think if they saw my true self, it would be rather shocking and they'd all think I was lying. [Ash smiles and shrugs, annoyed at how nostalgic he finds himself feeling.]

Maybe I'll keep it up just out of habit; saying the nastiest things I can think of to repel anyone and everyone.

[ He looks like he's trying not to laugh. ] Hey, remember I told you about fun video games? If you want to laugh at an accent, try Cooking Mama. It's a Japanese woman speaking English with an Italian accent.

Yes, there always seems to be a hidden effect or hook that comes with hiding things... [Ros falls silent for a moment, his gaze cast downwards as he lets his thoughts overwhelm him. After a considerable amount of time he raises his gaze back up to Ash, lips pressed thin though there is no other show of expression on his face besides it.]

Well, there are the few that will manage to get close to you despite that. Put up with the insults, the harsh words. It's rather odd why they weather the abuse and not just leave but then again, I suppose that people do stupider things to keep friends.

[A look of absolute confusion comes to Ros's face at that; confusion that quickly morphs into an incredulous look.] I think whoever made that game doesn't know how accents work... I could understand if it was just Japanese speaking English or the far more believable English with an Italian accent, but all three?

D-don't ask me! I guess there's this stereotype that all the best "here let me fill you up" type mothers are Italian, so they tried to recreate that with a Japanese mom and then made her speak gratuitous English with Italian flair. I didn't know that many languages existed!

Despite all of my efforts... [Despite what Saiki had told his friends, Ash could hear them at that final bout. Even with his ancestor in control of his body, his emerald flames darkened to black, Ash was able to hear and see and feel. Duo Lon's rage that Saiki would speak such horrible things with Ash's face-- and Shen was concerned only with him; he couldn't have cared less about Saiki, so long as he could pummel Ash's body until Saiki was out of it. And Elisabeth... Ash sighed and looked down at his hands.]

Betty and those two idiots chased me right until the end. It's better that they can't remember me, now.

[Ros just makes an exasperated noise and covered his face with his hands, shaking his head slightly as well. After a minute he moves his hands, giving his face a small rub before he lets them fall back to where they had been before.]

If I ever have a problem, it has a 97% chance of being stereotypes...

[ Julian raises a delicate eyebrow. ] You don't have a lot of problems then, do you?

[He shrugs, the corner of his mouth curving up slightly in a small smile.] Nah, I've found that the more you have, the more your life tends to spiral downwards. My incurable habit of keeping grudges is enough of a problem for me.

[Ros watched Ash's face for a moment, raising a hand to lightly tug at his earlobe as he contemplates the other's words for a moment.]

Faded out or forced removal of the memories...? [The question is hesitant, since he isn't really sure how to approach this new information and he doesn't want to start treading thin ice this early into a conversation.]

I created a time paradox. My ancestor was abusing his ability to move through time. He was hurting people and trying to enslave humanity.

I chose to destroy him, knowing that it would mean that the family line he would start at a later time by travelling backwards against time's flow yet again would never come into existence which means... I never existed at all.

They don't remember because I don't exist.

[... Oh. Ros blinks a few times, not quite expecting that. He had to admit that time travel and paradox stuff was not something that he could follow very well and it was obvious he was hesitant to admit do.]

My Mun seems to have an idea what you're talking about -- she keeps muttering something about an ocarina that controls time and something called Chrono Trigger -- but I'm at a bit of a loss. Time stuff was never my forte.
