When the Slutcracker Prince is a Princess, she gets really shippy
What do you mean when I'm a girl? I'm shippy all the time! This is just the first time I've gone all Dark Helmet on you.
[She's holding two dolls that resemble a pair she may or may not be stalking from outside a game. She's roughly pressing them together.]
Yes, yes, now bite her in the tit! And you maul his face!
[Questions of age aside, I gotta say I didn't figure you for a hateshipper, TSP.]
A hatecrush is still a crush, Mundane. I might not get behind all of it but I can get behind the important parts.

You are infringing on trademark and copyright.
This is your first and last warning.

Just curious.

Who are all wondering wtf you are even on rn

Re: FYI
Also, I hope you realize it seems a bit disingenuous of you to be so harsh on "copywrite infringement" when it appears your work is a parody of a ballet you only have the right to parody due to being in the public domain.

ive seen this account around before now. why didn't you do anything about it earlier if you get an email alert every time anything comes up?

You are hilarious.

I'll be honest with you. I think you're overreacting a lot, especially since not only does it appear that you don't understand how fandom roleplay works, but your own work is a satire.
Calm down.
no subject
it isnt even like your work is original at all, its satire. nobody's making money off of this, and you coming here to bully people out of doing something totally harmless with bullshit copyright claims is really gross, especially when theyre essentially protected by the exact same thing you are.
honestly this is like sonichu all over again

So, basically - what court would take this case? Are you twelve? Because the last time I saw someone threatening to sue someone else like this, it was fanfiction writers getting mad at Pottersues.
no subject
What law figure in their right mind would waste their time over bullshit like this? It was a roleplay account, for fuck's sake.
no subject
you need to chill
this is no way EVER to react to someone in your fanbase. they aren't claiming the slutcracker as their own. they aren't claiming the images as their own. it's a roleplay account, plain and simple.
you need to take a step back and grow up a little, let alone realizing what is infringement and what isn't.

Congratulations, you might be one of the few creators crazier than Anne Rice.

If you seriously think you could take an RP account to court and win against a Fair Use defense, you need to step back and re-evaluate what your idea of infringement is. I have a feeling a judge would certainly take into account that your work is in of itself a derivative of someone else's, too.
I'll not even get into the fact that as a creator you're supposed to appreciate your fans, not treat them like garbage. That doesn't mean bullying someone into deleting their account with threats of lawyers that, realistically, would scoff at a case like this, because unlike you, they'd know better.
Kick over a basket of puppies while you're at it, I doubt that can do much more damage to your PR than a stunt like this does.
All I hear is 'weeeeeeeh i'm a butthurt baby'.
no subject
And now you've killed any desire I have to see it.
Honestly? I would see someone RPing one of your characters as a badge of honor. It means they like your work in some aspect and are raising awareness of it. Even if you don't like it, it's still protected under Fair Use.
So chill.
no subject
But you didn't. You said this was infringement, when the RPer is perfectly within their right -- everyone else has mentioned Fair Use, and I'd also like to stress what others have said about your work being a parody of a ballet that was based on a book. So not only did you get rid of the exposure to potential fans, you also lied.
Unless you already have a lawyer lined up and ready to tackle this specific issue (which you might! and that poor lawyer is not going to have a very strong case), you're bluffing.
Rude.
Do I even need to say anything. Yes I suppose so

Being a dick to your fans never ends well.

i need this so badly.

FYI
Here is a sample of the ramifications: here (http://www.plurk.com/p/ij80ug).
Perhaps, as it was 2:55AM on a Sunday night, it may have been wiser to spend your time doing something more productive such as heading to bed in order to soothe your temper tantrum before it flared so wildly.
I'm pretty sure everyone else made my point, but...
(PS: In case you don't know, it's as easy as hovering over the name and clicking 'Send Message.')
My second problem is with your rudeness, but also with those who so voraciously decry fan works. Fan works are a form of free advertisement, word of mouth, a way to gather interests and--oh wait, there's a benefit to the fan, too--make friends. By saying that you do not wish fan works to be made of your work (which you are well within your rights to do, no matter how unwise it may be), you are removing any possible free advertising, any way for others to garner interest in your works for free, and any expression of appreciation of your characters. You are not just hindering your fans' creativity (trust me, they'll move on), but your own possible profit.
Speaking of profit, you are only in for the almighty dollar, aren't you? See, I know (personally know) authors who encourage roleplay and fanfiction, even to the point of making themselves available to answer questions from the fans, no matter how trivial the question may be. You, madame, are certainly not interested in your fans. You don't care about whether people like your work, nor if they spread the word, only that they pay for it.
Imagine if E. T. A. Hoffman acted (or had representatives to act, as he is dead) as you do. You would not have had the freedom to make your little parody. You would, as it stands, be in jail for plagiarism.
The tl;dr of it is good job alienating possible fans and a good chunk of the online community. You can be absolutely sure that people will hear about this. Your audiences will suffer. Your wallet will suffer.
Long story short, you were rude and screwed yourself.
Good day.
Re: I'm pretty sure everyone else made my point, but...
Good day to you also.

now, people are going to see that you're defending your (hardly even really your) property in a way most unsound, illogical, and most of all, over something that wasn't even infringing at all.
if you don't want anyone else getting into your business, don't publicize it. it's as simple as that.
no subject
If your original post was not rude, then this comment certainly is. No one said you did not have the right to defend your intellectual property. We just don't like the way you're choosing to do it. As the person above said, a quick private message would have sufficed. And part of the reason we don't understand your position is because of the amount of misinterpretation involved on your end.
Nobody is claiming to own your work. Nobody is trying to profit monetarily off of it. Fan activities like this one amounts to children playing with dolls. Would it be good etiquette for the makers of GI Joe to tell children "you and your friends can't make up stories for these characters while playing with their action figures because these are my creative property"? Roleplay is play and the stories we make up around these characters we use for it are ultimately just fun stories not meant to infringe on a creator's "legal entities and intellectual properties."

Grow the hell up and learn to take responsibility for your own screw-ups. Assuming that none of us have any copyrighted material we are willing to defend just because we're not siding with your repugnant behavior is just a crock. I know 7-year-olds who are more gracious than you've acted.
no subject
you could at least do yourself the favor of only sort of looking like an asshole instead of actually being one.
JUST SO YOU KNOW
This is what it says now that you've deleted your account. Chickening out and trying to remove evidence of your bluffing may not be the best idea, if you're concerned about someone else acting as "the real slutcracker." Your name will be up for grabs. I'd hate to see this happen again simply because you no longer wanted to take full responsibility for what you put in public view.
Re: I'm pretty sure everyone else made my point, but...
Now you just sound like all those other internet tough guys who are "too cool for school."
Also no, your original post was very rude.
