[ She laughs, tears starting to come to her eyes. ]

Ah, Anna, you are so lovely! You -- you have your father's nose.

[ Anna began to smile. It wasn't often that she saw her mother. ]

"Really? I'm more like you, though, according to Dad."

[ However, that smile had a hint of sadness. Please, don't fade away. ]

"Is this another dream? Or we both actually...? No, that can't be right."

You have my eyes, that's true.

[ She comes forwards. ]

But there's your father's brow, his nose, his smug mouth...you be good for him, understand?

[ She takes a few steps forward, as well. ]

"Yes, Mom. I understand. I've kept myself out of trouble, and I intend to keep it that way. It's.. Dad I'm worried about. I haven't seen him as of late."

[ Alice's lips fold in concern and she unfolds her arms and reaches out to Anna's shoulder. ]

What are you talking about, Sweetie? He hasn't been around much?

[ Anna flinched a bit, surprised to feel some warmth on her shoulder. Alive, not dead, right? ]

"No, it's not that. What I meant to say was that I haven't seen him out here, yet."

[bookedher]

Oh. [ She gives Anna a reassuring half-smile. ] He's probably gotten himself lost again. Don't be worried, Anna. Your father has always been able to solve complex problems. I am sure navigating this...nexus...is just another problem awaiting being solved.

"Yes, he'd always find a way back." [ She smiles again. ] "I was the one who tended to wander off when I was a kid." [ A chuckle. ]

[ ooc: I'm still working on writing up some verses for her. I'm definitely considering one where her mom's still alive because why can't we have happy endings? ]

I suppose it wouldn't be fair if you didn't inherit my yearning for adventure. [ She places a little kiss atop Anna's brow. ] Your poor father. At least all that running is good exercise.
