And what happened to your promise to send me somewhere that I could get some cool powers or something? The last thing I want to do is more school, especially since they'll be expecting me to fight. I know you keep saying I can train those creatures there, but that's not the same as having my own powers.

Relying on powers only makes the body more weak. You should train your physical strength rather than hoping for abilities that may never come.

Dude, I don't know if you noticed, but "physical strength" isn't really my thing.

Not like I'll have much of a choice if she does send me there, but getting some cool magic would have been nice.

Perhaps you didn't realize, but physical strength grows as you train it. Few are born with great strength. Most of those 'strong' people you know started off as weaklings.

Besides, the whole point of that game is it's a school that teaches you how to fight. It's not like I'll be doing any actual fighting.

[And then his expression changed to a smirk. It wasn't quite taunting, but he seemed to be enjoying his own private joke... and also enjoying the fact that it was a joke this other guy didn't get just as much as the joke itself.] After some of the things I've been through? That school will be downright safe, so don't worry about me any.

And what's that supposed to mean!? I was doing just fine pulling my grades up before everything happened. [It was actually true, too. Between Chiaki's scolding and the fact he wanted to impress Yuko, he'd been turning in all his homework on time for once. Which was helping his grades considerably.] Besides, it doesn't sound like my mun will let me take many of the classes you'd think I'd need. What kind of class is "Boxes 101" anyway? Sounds lame...
