I know that he can, but... I can't help but think that something's wrong with the way my mun's acting. I'm his bro after all, and that hunch I had on the boat doesn't make me feel any better.

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. Our journey's been slow since we've had to stop to help some people along the way. [Aka practically everyone they met.]

You've no need to be sorry, Yugo. King Sheran Sharm has been more than hospitable in your absence -- especially for someone who needs to deal with a strong-willed dragonet like Grougaloragran haunting his royal stables.

Ah... Between the king and I -- but mostly "I" -- I believe he's managed to set at least fourteen beards on fire this week.

[the look on his face suggests it's a wonder that he still has a beard at all.] So things have been pretty normal, as you can see.

[He laughs.] Sounds like he's doing super!

And what about Papa and the others? Have you found anything new with the Eliacube?

Alibert as as good a father for Chibi as any. It's no wonder a little seed like you flourished so well. Master Joris has been pleasant company when he's around, and Prince Armand is keeping up with his duties admirably.

As for the Eliacube... [a bit of a helpless one-armed shrug.] The Sadida are eager to keep it safe under guard when not desperately needed. [le smile.] In any case, after thousands of years there's little more I can discover about it. Er, not to brag.

In fact, this Nox I've heard so little about seems to have done more with it than I thought possible.

[portalist]

[At the mention of Nox his smile's gone.] Maybe he did, but what he did to Amalia's people to make it happen...

[A pause.] If we freed our people, it wouldn't cause anything like Nox's destruction, would it?

[qilby's smile, in contrast, never wavers.] I promise you that freeing our people will do nothing of the sort.

[taking everyone and blasting off in their mountain-spaceship, now, that's a different story entirely.]

It's true that our powers, our creations, can be used to do great things. Great, sometimes evil, things. But it was-- is-- our job as part of the Council to make the best possible decisions for all of Eliatrope kind.
