Look, mun, I know you think this is a good idea, but I don't want to go meet new people.

I want to stay with my brothers, and Torrun, and Tony.

And don't try that 'but Tony will be there' line again. He won't be my Tony.

My dad wasn't there last time, either.

There are not many people I think who enjoy playing old men. Even if the old man is Tony.

I still like our Tony better. Younger Tony is weird.

I believe it may be the alcohol. But you are looking well. This 'mun' is not treating you badly right?

My mun's not so bad. Even if I am going to be stuck with a weird young Tony.

I am- good. My Mun is also looking for one of these 'games' to place me in. Sounds dubious to me. And I am not sure I am ready to see my Parents either should they happen to be in whatever realm I'm sent to.

Neither of our parents are where my mun is sending me, but Tony is.

I wish I could see my parents. Even if it's only for a little while.

I believe I can understand that. I'd like for you to be able to meet your Parents as well.

What kind of place are you being taken to? Is it one of those 'horror' things?

I think it's going to be like our home, but without robots.

[She's pretty sure she knows, but...she has to ask.]

Tony would always tell us stories about the Avengers, but he didn't talk about them much outside that.

Anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt, and unlike him do not follow it with tequila.

I can safely assume you and I are from two different universes but even so.. I am pleased any child of mine has grown up well. The idea of being involved with Steve Rogers is a bit of a surprise, and your name... there are memories to it for both of us.

[The praise earns a small smile from James.]

Everyone I've met from the past is... surprised. About you. And my dad. And that I exist.

[James is being very generous when he uses the word surprised.]

[She's quiet for a moment, in truth had she ever conceived she would have thought he would be the father. Perhaps that was what drew she and Steve together elsewhere. But then how did this James know him?]

No. Tony and the Hulk are the only ones who survived. Well, and Thor, but he doesn't come to Earth anymore.

I met Bucky when I met past Tony.

[James puts on a semi-serious face.]

Past Tony is weird, and if the Tony you know is like that Tony... being on a team with him must suck sometimes.

Tony in my time is a friend but we have a unique relationship. He is also sometimes a bastard.

You said you don't remember your parents, may I ask what happened?

They were killed when I was very young.

[How does one comfort a child that is but is not their own? She rested a hand on his shoulder, unsure if he would even want more than that.]

[James likes to act like he's too grown up for this huggy touchy feely stuff but he isn't.]

I don't know if they would've lived if they had run away that day, but I bet a lot of other people would've died. Tony only made it because he was taking us to safety.

Tony and the Hulk were not happy with me when we chose to fight also, but it was the right choice.

[He's mostly come to terms with what happened.]

[She isn't exactly an old hand with kids, but she can usually pull it off well enough.]

They wouldn't have run if I know them. It's not in their natures.

I may not be her, but I could answer questions for you, if you had any.

I don't even know what I should ask. There's so much that might be different and... I can't ask you about what it was like when we were a family.

I did always wish I could've learned Russian, or other things from you.

Well he is the youngest as well. So maybe he'll get better as he ages.
