You have yet to reveal what you wish to accomplish with this mission, Mun. If you have no set ideas about my fate or where I may travel, I request that you send me back to Gondor. There is much to be done and little time to do it.

{Though he fears his Mun already knows this.}

What is to become of us - of Frodo {if he still lives} and the rest - should remain a mystery to me. Even knowing the outcome would not stop me from growing more concerned about their fate. Mordor is not a place one should take lightly. I know that a great battle awaits us at its gates and I will not shy from it.

{He tips his head back and looks at the sky.}

I am not afraid to die alongside those I call my friends and allies. No man could - or should - ask for better in such dark times.

Then we are from the same world? Does the name Gondor mean anything to you, traveler?

[Willas taps his staff on the ground as he thinks, before shaking his head.]

No, I'm sorry. You're welcome to look in my library for anything, but the odds are against you if I cannot recall it.

I will take your word on that. {Which is just as well. He doesn't like the idea of there being others pulled from his world and stuck in this...whatever it is.} I'm Aragorn.

It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Willas, of House Tyrell.

{A small smile flickers across his lips. He inclines his head respectfully.}

I do hope this land - strange though it may be - proves fruitful for both of us.

[willas_tyrell]

[He returns the smile.]

Well, it hasn't done any great wrong by me yet.

[rangerandking]

I can say the same. {So far.} I'm ready for whatever dangers it might hold. {He puts a hand on the hilt of his sword. Oh yes, he knows how to use it with deadly efficiency.}

[willas_tyrell]

I do not think you'll need it. In my time as well as my mun's, there's only been one fight either of us can recall.

[And a sword would have been useless in that fight.]

[rangerandking]

Oh? {He's listening very intently.} Care to tell me about it?

[willas_tyrell]

This will sound incredibly outlandish, but it was a battle between a flying man with a red cape and a demon of fire and darkness, who stood as high as any castle I've seen.

[rangerandking]

{Well that sounds familiar. A Balrog?}

I can believe it.

[willas_tyrell]

[No, something greater and more terrible even than that.]

Then you truly have seen far more than I have.

{The very idea sends a nasty shiver down his spine.}

And I do not wish to see such a sight again.

[willas_tyrell]

I can understand that ...

[The demon was a horror to behold, but the man ... there was something awe-inspiring about him.]

Such creatures are better left to their own devices unless you have no other choice.

[willas_tyrell]

I would not envy anyone who stood against them.

I have seen men do great deeds when there was need.

[willas_tyrell]

I have not had that privilege myself, only hear or reading of it. I hope to one day see it with my own eyes, though.

There is a grain of truth in most of those stories. {And he has to hold onto that truth.} Even if the battle seems never-ending, tomorrow will come; hope will be renewed.

[willas_tyrell]

[There's a hopeful smile from Willas. Something about Aragorn's words make him believe them without question. A rare talent, being able to inspire like that.]

[It almost makes him think that there is hope of a happy ending at home.]

{He blushes faintly and holds up a hand.}

You must keep hope. Without it, none of us have a reason for fighting.

[willas_tyrell]

My thoughts exactly, as I have said. It is just harder to keep optimistic sometimes.

Your optimism might fade. {His has on occasion.} But your faith and your hope cannot leave you. Do not give them away to the hands of those who wish you ill.
