You are to immediately cease calling my elk the 'swag stag'. He is a great and majestic creature. It is one thing for you to make merry jest of the name you chose for me, but to insult my elk will not be tolerated.

I would also prefer if you stop asking questions about what happened to my wife, the queen. You seem to imply I raised Legolas all on my own, but that is not true. There were nurse maids and plenty of servants to help ease the burden.

[What unkept hair. Dori's hands would itch to braid it if he'd care even a little for the elven king's appearance.]

...would you care for a lovely cup of tea, master elf? [He'll be polite for all their sakes.]

[Oh God. Not you.]

King Thranduil, isn't it? I remember now. You left us at the battle of Smaug. [You poncy bastard.]

[Chuckle.]

They are not to be reasoned with, I fear, father.

Don't forget that I am close friends with a dwarf and his manners are... acceptable. And what he lacks in manners, he makes up for in being incapable of beating me in a drinking contest.

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if any scribes manners match up with a dwarf. Perhaps they're closer off to the mannerisms of orcs?
