And no one was surprised.
"Eu sunt Alucard." Really, mundane. I'd have tied you to my horse and sent him galloping straight to the Dark Lord's throne room were the gist of it not true.
That said, I do not think my 'brother' weak for failing to do what myself, Sypha, Grant, and Adrian did. He accounted well for himself and our name in every single way. In spite of Fate's dark hand, at that. 'Tis something to aspire to, and I could not be prouder of him than if we were one and the same.
Now away with you. Yonder church won't raid itself and the conclusion won't be for awhile yet.

*fol* OH U
A coin for your thoughts, milady?
*stalkstalkstalk* XD
Who dat breathin' on my neck? 8)
No idea! >.>
ARE YOU SURE. >=(
['Nice.' Are they ever?]
Though I do wonder a little less about its' circumstances. Your kind is long-lived; you could easily have been up and about during my time.
Never... =^.^= Except on subways, then I'm half-sure.
Oh well, like I'd object. <3
Then I look forward to it. I'll spare a bowl of zelnacka just for you.
[Coz whether or not her taste buds remain human, it's the thought that counts.]
Oddly, this just makes me want to play it even more.
[They discussed this before, but Trevor and his writer have actually seen how it was played out now, and so Adrian can't contain his curiosity.] You seem to linger between disappointment and admiration, my friend.
You should! Whether or not you enjoyed LOS, it'll at least give you feels. ;_;
And yet... in the end, he made the most of what was given to him and stood against his sire. Just as you did, Adrian.
Currently fighting through Trevor's story, but holy crap. This game is feelsy.
Ain't it? I find that a plus point in general for the LOSverse. ;;
Indeed. Worse still in that he could not escape it.
But in the end, is Fate not what you make of it?
Me, too. ;; I'm actually loving this game, despite the fact that I'm stuck in that watery-prison.
It doesn't seem fair at all.
[ Tilting her head, Annette merely nods. ]
Yes, I suppose so. I'm certain that he will be alright... and he will do what he must.
Ah damn, I wish I could offer mor advice than just keeping a sharp eye open for passages. =(
[His descendant married more than just a pretty face, clearly.]
I hate the water. ;_; It makes me so nervous, DO NOT WANT TO DROWN TREVOR.
Oi, but at least he can swim, period! Old Trev never could. XD
[Speaking of which:]
The mun has told me what you've been through. You stayed strong in the face of the Dark Lord's wiles, and that was truly commendable of you.
This is true! It's definitely a nice change. Annette can't make fun of Richter and his family now XD
[ Annette blinks, and then smiles again. ]
Thank you! I knew Richter would come for me... and besides, showing that monster any sort of fear would have only given him more pleasure.
The baffling inability to swim. 'Tis the true curse upon the Belmont clan. >=}
[Yep, that means you too Annette.]
Now, if I could only be sure you'll shower more pleasure than pain upon my heir.
[Coz henpecked husband. But like hell if he's admitting that.]
What a terrible night to have the urge to go swimming. O_O
[ Is that amusement laced into her voice? Why yes, yes it is. ]
Pain? I would never dream of hurting Richter.
[ Except for all of the times she's smacked him with rolling pins, banished him to the couch for making stupid little comments that he REALLY hadn't bothered to think about before blurting them out. Not to mention the fact that she's constantly harassing him about water, or splashing him to hear his girly screams... ]
...Well. He may be a little broken up and bruised in places, but he is still in good condition, I can assure you.
Damn Alucard hoarding that Holy Snorkel. /rageface
Or would be, after a nice Leg of Werewolf.
...you can promise that at least, can't you, m'lady?
[The Belmonts' love of and metabolic response to that dish. It's genetic.]
Yes, he's good at that. He gets his hoarding abilities from his father's side, naturally.
[ Like you know. Following an evil priest ghost thing's plan to revive Dracula's Castle in an attempt to gain eternal fame-- oh. Oh, wait. Been there, done that. ]
...And knowing my dearly beloved, he will indeed do something ridiculous. But you can rest assured that I will keep him in line, even if I have to beat the [ She resists the urge to continue that sentence with 'beat the stupid' -- ] bad, ridiculous ideas out of his thick skull for him.
[ She will, too. It's a good thing he's got a head full of thick hair to protect his brain, because she's certain she'll be using that rolling pin of hers many times. ]
no subject
...very well. You do that. And as an ancestor, I'll do what I can to purge such 'bad ridiculous' idea from this bloodline. Do we have a deal?
no subject
I would very much appreciate that! Yes, we do indeed have a deal. Besides, you and I are family by marriage... just remember, I'm holding you to this.
[ Ancestor or not, you don't want to have the same rolling-pin-to-the-skull fate as your heir, do you, Trev? She could always have nice, long chat with Sypha... ]
no subject
An unbreakable vow then. Just like the one we've carried for centuries. Have at it!
no subject
Oh, that reminds me! I've one more request to ask of you. While you are busy making sure that bad ideas don't come into play, perhaps you could make sure that, in the future, your heirs stay far away from the kitchen?
[ Because she can't even count on her fingers how many times she's come home from a long day of running errands, only to have Richter pop out from a smoke laden kitchen, his first words being 'Don't be mad, but...'. ]
no subject
With great respect... I cannot promise that. One can't just turn his back on over three centuries' worth of meal-making techniques and recipes for the exiled hunter.
I can promise to refine them further, however?
[As in 'more salt'.]
no subject
But his meal-making techniques are more like home-wrecking ones. Besides, cooking is a woman's job...
[ Trevor. Trevor plz. You're going to need to do better than that. ]
no subject
And the true measure of a man is in his ability to perform women's tasks.
[Even cooking. Especially cooking. Annette, men barbecuing is all the rage in the mundanes' time era.]
Besides, showing his love means more than just bringing a monster pelt home for you.
no subject
[ And now, you are getting the look. The look all women give men when they are displeased. Adding in the whole arm crossing and foot tapping thing for a bonus here, too. ]
Showing his love means staying out of my kitchen and sitting and doing something constructive like not getting in my way while I cook.
no subject
But it is for his own good. For his growth as a hunter, and a man. Surely you would not deny him of that?
After all, 'tis not like he means to seize your kingdom--- er, kitchen--- from you.
[You'd only have to endure it once a month, in other words. Pleaaaase Annette.]
no subject
How does cooking and getting in my way have anything to do with being a hunter? Or even a man, for that matter? As far as I'm concerned, his only job as a man is to stay out of my kitchen and go outside and do... manly things. Like patching the roof up because it's leaking again. You should make him better at doing things like that.
[ NO. She will hear none of this insanity from you, Trevor. ]
It is hard enough keeping Maria out of the kitchen, and it is an absolute disaster when they both go in together. I can't fix Maria, but you can fix Richter.
no subject
Refinement over outright prohibition. Now that I can promise.
[A hand on the piles of parchment on his stone desk. Looks like a few revisions and additional skillsets to be passed down are on the horizon.]
In the meantime, until they manifest... can I count on you for patience? Being a better spouse will be quite a bit harder than storming a castle.
no subject
[ She blinks, and then tilts her head. ]
Oh, don't say it like that! It isn't so much being a better spouse, he's a wonderful spouse! I couldn't ask for a better husband, really!
[ And suddenly, she's staring at him, realization dawning on her. ]
Y-you must think I'm a terrible person for wanting to change him, don't you? I-I don't mean it like that...!
no subject
By no means, m'lady. I doubt there was a married woman anywhere who didn't wish for some change in her husband.
[Hai Sypha.]
'Tis marriage in the end. You learn, you adapt, and in so doing enrich your bond. There is no other way to go about it.
no subject
[ She tilts her head and listens, nodding in agreement. ]
Yes, you are absolutely right. How long have you and your wife been married, if you do not mind my asking?
no subject
The lady and I have been married three years now. Would that we met sooner; 'tis more like I've known her my whole life.
no subject
That is absolutely wonderful! You two sound like you were indeed destined to be soul mates... how romantic.
no subject
And yourself? The men of this family tend to marry young, if things haven't changed too much by your era.
no subject
[ The idiot had to go and disappear on her for a whole year, something she's still holding a grudge over. ]
no subject
Even so. To be married into this family takes conviction unlike any other. I'm glad you've held onto yours all this time.
no subject
no subject
I can't speak for my descendant, or this clan as a whole. But for what it be worth... I thank you, m'lady. Truly.
Stay strong. The road ahead will be more fraught with thorns than roses, but you couldn't have chosen a better family to see you through them.
no subject
[ While others may look down upon it, Annette doesn't. She takes pride in it, really, and feels privileged to have even been accepted so easily into the family... especially considering how useless she is. ]
Thorns are not so bad, once you learn how to weave your way past them, right?
no subject
Or through them.
no subject
Yes, working through them is even better. You have to reach a clear path eventually.
