Because my life isn't complicated enough, you want to send me into some strange city sans Dad, sans Batman, sans Birds, sans everything and everyone I know.

I get that I'm being stubborn about the whole, "I don't need any help," bit, but at least I'm flying solo on ground that I know like the back of my hand. Gotham's my home, my territory, not some weird alternate dimension you've got your heart set on. I have things to do and asses to kick and none of it's a game.

...I don't know a Cassandra Cain, why should I be happy she's there?

Why are you laughing?

Well, there's something to be said for trying new things.

[personal profile] plains_hunter 2013-03-07 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Even bats have to migrate, now and then. Have to leave the cave, sometime. Besides, the Bat prides himself on being able to handle anything, doesn't he? What better way to prove yourself?

If it makes you feel any better, it's not like you're leaving Gotham alone or anything. The city has, like, a ton of heroes.

Even if we're currently lacking a Robin. That's not just a rumor, right?

I mean, I get wanting to protect your city, but there's a whole world out there that needs protecting, too.

...I don't know about the alternate dimension thing, though. That just sounds...weird.

Except even Batman - whose primary concern has always been Gotham - is on the League. I'm just saying that being sent somewhere else to fight and protect isn't the worst thing. It's part of why you're in a costume, after all, isn't it?

[personal profile] batfail 2013-03-07 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, the mun-iacal laughter. I'd say it never gets old, but that's actually not true.

[personal profile] batfail 2013-03-08 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Annoying and just a little bit psycho.

I don't know if it gets any better — It's a thing we hear on the regular over here.

Perhaps you should research the person in question. Then you may find why your mun is laughing.

Now why might that be?

Unfortunately for us, the muns love throwing us out of our comfort zones. It's just something you've gotta deal with, and keep going.
almost_admirable: (Come again?)

I love the fact you're using Kristen Connolly for the PB

Considering there's probably about 200 violent crimes happening as we're talking, I can understand that.

You'll like Cassie. She's... another Bat-girl. It's a long story. Short version is that her dad raised her to communicate solely through violence, Bats took her in and is gradually teaching her how to integrate with society.

She's kinda like a little sister to me. She's got a ways to go, but she's a good kid with a big heart.

It's their favorite thing, Barbara. We're a hobby to them. Twisted, isn't it?

M-kay. Let me tell you a tale.

There was, once upon a time, a girl who was never allowed to learn how to speak. All her life, she'd lived in silence - silence, and training. Martial arts. She was little, and alone, but she got to be very, very good. Kick-the-big-bad-Bat's-ass kind of good, and not ever break a sweat, too. She could read a person's body language perfectly, but words? Language was just noise to her, noise she did not understand.

Then those who raised her like that made her do what they meant her from the beginning. And she did it - but the pain she saw when she did made her rebel. Made her run.

Later, she found her way to a big bad city in a different part of the world. The big bad city was devastated at the time by an earthquake the like of which was not imagined, before.

There, she met a beautiful red-haired princess, who was the cleverest person in the land. The princess got to notice the girl, and understand, a little. So she took her in, and gave her a name, and started teaching her all the things the girl had been missing.

You and me both.

Except. You know. The whole solo thing? I'm still kinda set on making Bats take me. [Even if he isn't in her game.]
