after making almost 100 icons at 3 am? i think i've earned this.
Which brings me to bullet numero uno: Why? I mean, of all the more interesting people out there, why me? Granted, yeah, okay — I am made of awesome, but that's a little beside the point.
Bullet number two: 88 icons? Seriously? Talk about excess. ( .. ) Thinking ahead?
That brings us to bullet number three: Chill. Please. For the sake of our currently uncaffeinated coexistence, do me a favor and breathe. It's just a rumor, remember?
Albeit an incredible one, and if there's any truth to it, — let's just not talk about that happy dance. Yes, I know you're still upset about — I'm not exactly over the moon, you know that.
Remember, if we're going to do this, then let's do this right. Please. Because I don't think I can take you reading those same two comics again. And again. It's getting a little bit old.

right in the feelings.
That's what I thought, but... yeah.
Everybody has to die, sooner or later.
[And his family has taught him that pretty damn well.]
doing things because we can: the story of dc comics, basically.
Not like that, they don't. ( Okay, take it back down a notch, idiot. Say something positive. ) But you're here, right? That has to count for something.
Not appreciated from this corner of the world.
Technically, she, [thumb over shoulder] never took me into the stories past Flashpoint. So, yes. I'm here. That's how it works.
nor will it ever be from this one.
I know my opinion isn't worth much, ( After all, what are the thoughts of a total stronger worth? ) but no matter what happens there, don't give up here. ( Harper was never good at pep talks, and even still, how the hell do you help someone as incredibly helpful as Robin? )
Something tells me that you've still got one hell of a journey in front of you, ( She smiles, which, given her appearance, looks uncharacteristically sincere. ) Robin.
Indeed. SIGH. Though Harper IS said to be showing up again next week...
[This Robin and 'humble' don't really exist in the same universe. And he really is not fond of self-abasement. At all. And he's always sharp and often unpleasant. But he's listening.]
And I'm not giving up anywhere, of course. That would be stupid. I'm right here for the journey as it will be. All of it.
[He appreciates the smile, he does. He's sure not getting many of those anytime soon, not that he misses them or anything. Ever. >.>]
If that [meaning her as Robin. Or otherwise-styled sidekick.] does happen though...
Don't let what happened to me give you up from what needs to be done. He'll try to be there there for you even harder, and so will the rest of them.
yes! aaah. i've heard a bit about this issue. it's bound to make these two more emotional.
( She nods. ) That's what I like to hear. And hey — If you ever need my ( She wiggles her fingers like she's utilizing a keyboard. ) help, all you have to do is say so. ( She won't say 'ask'. If he's anything like Batman — That's just not happening. ) I may not have a bright costume or fancy acrobatics training, but I know my city.
( Harper blinks, taking the words to heart all too quickly. She swallows, and the prospect is suddenly frightening. But if she's learned anything from watching the videos of Batman and Robin, she knows that fear's a big part of it. You just have to utilize it instead of letting it rule you. She gathers her wits again, nodding to herself. ) Thank you. But you know, whatever happens, — no matter what they do? I won't let you ( Or him. ) down.
Absolutely. I mean. >.>
I'll think about it.
[As... things have been sinking in, he's getting less willing to talk, apparently. It's not you, Harper. It's him.]
And you'd better not. He's standing up against - more than just what is in Gotham.
mwaha. good, excellent. i mean what.
This, however, does make her snort. You'd better not. She only likes this kid more with every word. ) So, what you're saying is: No pressure, right?
( She feels all of the pressure, though. And in an attempt to distract both herself and Little D from, well, everything, she leans over slightly, hands in her pockets. ) Hey, you like ice cream?
And then I take 5ever... BUT KIDS. YOU SHOULD HAVE MET.
[Says the kid whose childhood involved getting better by staying alive among assassins trying to kill him. Don't listen to him - screwed perspective!]
[He makes a bit of a face.]
I do not dislike it.

Besides, I don't think I could make an actual living saving the guy who saves Gotham. ( It's total b.s. and she knows it, but hey. Nobody else needs to. Fixing things is what she does — being there to fix her hero would be, well — It'd be her honor. )

From what I've seen — It's amazing. The things that heroes do. Superman, Batman — But it'll always be that way to an outsider, I guess.
( She makes an inoffensive face. One that's more surprised than anything. ) So, you're a bad guy, huh? ( She instinctively nudges her taser, hidden from sight. )

[He keeps a steady, but calm demeanor when he senses the shift in tension.]
...Don't worry, kid. I'm not your enemy. Not even in your universe, yet. Might never be. Me and Bats used to go toe-to-toe now and then, but that's a whole other lifetime. I'm a pragmatist, not a lunatic. If I tangle with a rent-a-cop during a heist, he goes home with a few lumps on his head, but he goes home alive.

Her hand falls to her side, she eases up. )
Do you do the whole suit thing? Because some people might call that loony. ( It's a lame joke. ) Actually, I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they say.

"Catman" is no worse than "Batman". At worst, it's unoriginal, since I stole the schtick from Catwoman. We're all a little loony on both sides. Normal people don't dress like this. I'm pretty sure we've all got a trauma story, we just cope with our trauma by dressing funny and punching people in the face.
Truth be told, I'm not even sure what side I'm on, anymore. Somewhere between being a mercenary and repeatedly failing at trying to help people.

Maybe you're just caught between that age-old rock and a hard place. You'll figure it out, ...( She grins again. ) Catman. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. Last I checked, there's not a time limit.

I wish you luck, little lady.
no subject
Really? ( It's just a rum— Oh, forget it. At this point, she'll take all the luck she can get. ) I mean, thank you. These days, who knows might happen, right? And in the end, no matter where this rollercoaster goes, at least I'll still be awesome.

Who knows? Maybe I'll de-age, too. I could use a few years of wear and tear off this scruffy mug.
no subject
Eh, I dunno. It kinda suits you. The world could use a few more rugged rogues. I mean, look at Han Solo.

can't stress enough how much i've wanted this encounter.
so very happy to provide
[She sticks her fingers up over her head.] I'm the night.
you win, the end.
Is he always that serious?
thank you, thank you
Pretty much. You can get a smile out of him, sometimes.
