On his mun still debating between Luceti and Animus
Mundane, please. I must ask that you stop this debate. We both know that we have too little time to write what you need to, but please, I implore you. I don't wish to go to that village, even if Mia is there. She's safe, and the price for the wings...
It's too high. Especially so because of the Wings on my ship.
Felix and Sheba need me in the Tower. The dangers are clear, and I can assist everyone more there than in that other place.
Even if I would be able to keep my ship if I was given wings. That sea has already been charted, and it barely counts by my standards.

We did have a chance to speak. She's well, and that's all I'm concerned about.
However, you and Sheba appear to be having far worse difficulties. While the dangers are greater, it's not as if I'm at risk for losing my healing abilities if I do happen to die...unlike in that village.
Besides, I would rather be beside either you or Sheba instead of one of Isaac's companions. We navigated the Sea of Time to enter Lemuria together, and you helped me return to the sea.

[...Yeah, he's already fairly scarred by the experience. And mun is telling him to shut up...]

[He paused, as if contemplating the currents and the tide.]
Isn't it better to have comrades that you know you can rely on?

[If she's being honest, the thought of Piers being trapped the same way she and Felix are makes her a little ill. Especially given some of the more recent revelations about the exact nature of the Tower... especially with the way the people in charge of them all are behaving... In spite of all that, though, she would feel better with more of her friends there, really. That's a fact an she's a little ashamed of it, because it seems selfish, but it's a fact nonetheless.]
Try really hard not to die when you arrive, okay? It's not... [She shakes her head.] ...the things they do are not... pleasant.

[Piers smiled, trying to reassure her as much as himself. Although his mind was made up, both Felix's and Sheba's reactions concerned him.
It surely was bad if they were trying to dissuade him.]
Even if something does happen, we'll have eachother's support. That's important.
vghgmhajg so sorry for how late this is, I had some trouble getting motivated to tag anything OTL
[His reminder brings a smile to her face that's a little more genuine, but she still does look uneasy. Even if Piers could handle what was going on, that didn't mean he should have to...]
Maybe I'm worrying a little too much. I just don't want anything to happen to you, too. [She makes a face.] It's annoying enough that these people are playing games with my life and that they've dragged Felix into it. And now they want to bring you into it, as well...
I know we're all capable of facing this, but I had hoped that after everything we've been through they would have let us experience some kind of peace.
I know that feel, brosis. o/
Sometimes things have to look worse before they can get better. A storm cloud can bring terrible gales and hail, but the skies are always clear after... Besides. It was peaceful back home, and you know how that works as well as I.
I don't want to live like that again.

[A peaceful existence was nice - the whole reason they'd gone on their journey was to ensure peace for the people of Weyard who didn't have the strength to save their world themselves. But after everything they've experienced, returning to a "normal" life was incredibly difficult.
Sheba's wanted to return to Lalivero and see Faran and the rest of her adopted family for so long, but she's changed. They've probably changed, too. What would she even say to them? Would it even be possible for them to pick up from where they'd left off? Maybe she doesn't want to find the answers to those particular questions.]
For now I'll just be happy that I'll get to see you again, Piers! Even if it's a little selfish of me to be happy that you'll be trapped in a place like the Tower...

[The quiet, peaceful lifestyle that was indicative of a dying culture was Piers' definition of normal. After being washed away, held in prison, and having visited countless towns along his travels, he knew in his heart that he could never return. Not even his love for his family could compel him to stay, and Conservato's declaration was only further incentive.
He was a sailor that was lost to Lemuria, but he found that he would rather remain lost and continue sailing.]
It's alright to be a little selfish in this instance. I'm eager to get there myself. Frankly, sailing isn't the same without everyone.

[As awe-inspiring as Lemuria had seemed to the rest of them, to someone who had been there his whole life, the sleepy, timeless atmosphere had to have been really jarring after everything else he'd experienced.]
You, me, and Felix... I'm glad we'll all be together again. I'm starting to feel a little more optimistic about everything that's going on.
...once you come, it'll just be Jenna and Kraden we're missing. Do you think maybe we'll see either of them there, too...?
no subject
[His concerns weren't just for the old scholar's age either. While While the rest of them were skilled in combat, Kraden alone had no martial skill. If the tower was truly as treacherous as he was hearing, there was a possibility that they wouldn't be able to protect Kraden one day.]
no subject
[She chuckles, and raises a hand to rub at the back of her head.]
It's strange not having him around to start talking about things we haven't learned yet. He wouldn't know anything about the Tower, but... it'd still be nice to have some of guidance. Sometimes it seemed like Kraden knew everything.
[Other times she despaired over his lack of understanding, but... those times were few and far between.]

...maybe some of it can help us at home, if we're allowed to remember any of it.
no subject
[At the mention of "home," though, her expression falls.]
...about that, Piers... you... do know what to expect to hear about home when you get there, don't you? From the way things are looking now, it... looks like it's true.
no subject
[His words were gentle, but firm.]
It doesn't make sense, not when we've been fighting as we have. They must be lying, Sheba...because what they're saying is impossible. Unless..
no subject
[How can she put what happened down in the elevator into words? How can she even begin to describe what she'd seen a few days later, when she'd seen the video of what had happened after she'd died?
She hunches her shoulders.]
If... there's any proof that they are lying, we should find it. And fast. Because even the people who have said all along that the worlds can't be destroyed are starting to believe that they really have been.
no subject
We will.
[It was a promise, to both her and Felix. Although the destruction of their own world hadn't yet been prevented, he refused to believe that they would fail. Not when they were as close as they were.]
Don't worry too hard. We'll prove everyone wrong.

[Sheba is quiet for a moment or two, and she keeps her eyes on the ground, thinking things over. Then she raises her head and smiles.]
Felix and I are very lucky to have a friend like you, Piers. Thank you.
