[It probably said a lot about Dick that he was just plain happy to see that rather creepy grin on his younger brother's face. After spending years trying to get the grim, brick wall that was Bruce Wayne to lighten up, he would take what he could get with Damian.]

Don't be ridiculous. Father is physically incapable of having kittens, no matter what the circumstances. [ If he were going to have anything, Damian thinks, it would be puppies. Although he wouldn't mind another cow. He worries sometimes that Batcow gets lonely. ]

Besides, no matter what Father may think, I am a vigilante who is who is more than capable of handling a murder investigation. I've done it already while he's been out of town. He said you used to do it.
