[Lucina choosing to challenge fate is no surprise to him. Her decision to come back in time alone is enough of a statement on what she thinks of the inevitable. As such, something of a small, amused smile curls the edges of his lips. There is no changing fate and in his heart he has accepted it, but she makes him hope he is wrong.] What have you in mind?

[A replacement mask? An owed boon?]

She lets out an amused sound at that. Maybe she'll go for something challenging... for him. ]

I would hope you tell me that. It is a debt owed to you, after all. You may ask anything of me, and I shall do my best to see it fulfilled.

[argh I ended up getting her with Inigo too and I was so mad when I got Gerome. So I read it here.]

[One eyebrow goes up from behind his mask, a single expression of both curiosity and bemusement. Such an open-ended offer is dangerous, especially when it is given by royalty. He knows what the others would ask- Inigo would request something unseemly and inappropriate, a kiss or a date. Owain would ask for eternal companionship upon the battlefield or some such.

As for him? What does he want of Lucina other than "nothing"? He is able to fight by her side and support her both on and off the battlefield. There is precious else he desires when it comes to her. Well... precious else that he desires of her and is realistic.

While he ponders this, an image comes unbidden to his mind. One from a time long ago when they were young and protected from the darkness their parents faced on a near daily basis. Two children, playing at frivolous things and enjoying each other's company. Before any death, before any sorrow and before all the fighting. Simplistic, pure and contented happiness. It's a foolish thing to want, the past cannot be relived after all, but...]

Lunch. [The word is past his lips before he can rethink his decision.] The two of us, alone.

Another blink, another pause. That's it? She shouldn't be surprised; she always knew him to be a man of simple, practical tastes. Her inner soliloquy is brief, however, and she nods eagerly with that ready smile of hers. ]

I would love that. Wouldn't it be just like old times?

[ Before all that death and destruction and the heavy weight of responsibility upon them both. The memory itself seemed like a dream just looking back, but it happened. And now she sees the small benefit of being found here by Gerome in this place in that she didn't have a fight for the world to worry over now.

[He shouldn't be surprised she remembers those times as well, but he is. It's a pleasantly surprised kind of feeling though, a pleased sentiment that she has not forgotten the few good memories they have and that their time together is one of them.

That perhaps she remembers them as fondly as he does.]

Yes, it would. [A brief pause, here comes that awkward shyness again. Creeping up upon him like a mage with arcwind on a pegasus knight...] It's a simple enough request, in any case. But if it's impossible, tell me now and I shall think of another.

She gets what he's trying to do, and she'll have none of that, good sir. Her smile doesn't leave her voice, and she gives a brief chuckle before she says: ]

Not even a pack of Risen would keep me from completing this "daunting" task. When and where shall we dine?

[ Hell, she'll even make food for him. It'd be more to make up for his mask being broken. ]

That would be whenever my mundane allows me. As such, she grants me ample enough... time, lately, to do whatever I please.

[ She'd genuinely admit that she'd really like to use that time for more important things, like fighting a war or killing Risen and all that jazz, but. ]

So perhaps soon? A wolf needs to stop and take some time to refresh himself on food and rest.
