It's about time you did this. It's no fun sitting on my flank thinking of new things to do with my hat. I had to resort to playing hat frisbee with myself. Seriously bo-ring. I like the username you gave me. It's perfectly accurate. I honestly couldn't think of a better name.

But enough about me, let's talk about me. Where am I headed off to? That little jamjar place? What even. I don't even know what a jamjar is, or why I need to go to that voice test you're so insistent about. I already cured my voice.

It wouldn't have happened anyway if Herpy didn't put that ancient cursed straw into my drink.

[Daring Do huffs a little bit.]

That week was awful and I never want to force my students to learn horse code again.

It's for these muns that get a kick out of sending us to those games. They're pretty much a one-way ticket to worlds and places that aren't Equestria.

But for what it's worth: there's tons of adventure out there.

Trust me: if you were drugged, you'd be having a lot more fun right now. See, this place is kinda known for bringing doubles, triples and whatever other number you want to count up to, together.

There's at least one more Daring out there and you probably won't be the last, but you're still just as cute.

[Doubles and triples? This is bringing back bad memories from that one time when the universe had cracks in it. She saw things. Bad. Things.]

Yeah, let's not do all that again.

[Daring blinks a few times at the second statement.]

Technically it's a boost of self-confidence, but you can call it whatever you want.

Anyway, you'd probably have a good bit of fun in those games. I'd tell you to keep a look out for the crazy ones, but you're already familiar with avoiding traps.

What? No way! Not a chance in Tartarus! There's plenty of alternate universes out there, but I doubt any Daring would do that.

Well your mun's already looking at the Equestria one, but there's one about summoning these weird inner selves called Personas, one about being a superhero, one about collecting monsters to train...there's tons of 'em out there.

[Daring sheepishly rubs the back of her head. She should really be in denial about THAT universe much more often.]

I'll give those a look over, but if they aren't as awesome as the Awesome Archaeology class I teach, then it's a no go.

Anyway, those seem pretty cool and full of cool stuff. I'm in a few other games, myself: one where I'm an instructor at a military school and the other on a space ship sailing through...well, space.

I've never been to space. How's it like?

Intense. And very unpredictable. I mean, we're talking whole new planets to explore every month and plenty of goodies to dig up in each of them.

I got a regular expedition crew, too. I know, I'm the type of girl who prefers hoofing it solo, but it makes things interesting.

Huh. Looks like we really are from different universes. I usually don't go solo. I bring lots of different ponies on my excavations, but it's usually either Herpy, Mahavir, or both.

Guess so. Not that it's a bad thing; just means more Daring to go around. I bring a few ponies along, pretty fun girls to be around, but the most recent one had both Luna and Celestia tagging along.

Well, think about making the right decision let me take over because exploring other planets sounds... just... so... awesome!

There's always room for more me. Especially if it ticks Ahui off. Who all's in your group?

Well we have Princess Luna and Princess Celestia, a pink pony named Pinkie, and two unicorns: Twilight and Trixie. We had another pegasus named Rainbow Dash for a while, but...well, she left. Better get used to that when you end up in a game.

Sounds like you got yourself a neat little group. The people I travel with don't usually come all at once all the time, but there's Herpy, a Unicorn, who I usually travel with, other than Mahavir. Sometimes I travel with Derring, Darrin, and Daren, my older sister, younger brother, and father, respectively. There's also Tabula, Coco, Starlight, Jack, Desert Rose, Storm Talon, and Bravado who occasionally team up with me. Once or twice, I also teamed up with some count named Vryko Lakas a couple times. I think he's a vampony.

A vampony, huh? You sure know how to pick 'em. Still, that sounds like a hay of a group. You've probably found loads of treasures and artifacts by now, huh? Any keepers?

No kidding. Freaky Vrykky's gone against me a few times, too. I don't know what's up with him.

Oh, you have no idea. I've probably snagged enough to fill the school museum twice over.

Must be a vampony thing; I can't imagine what being thirsty for blood can do to anypony.

Atta girl. No Daring Do would be complete without a few museums worth of treasure. You haven't stumbled upon any necronomicons, have you?

I usually just nod my head yes whenever he speaks. Er, when I'm not facehooving because of his complete physical incapability of understanding even the bluntest of sarcasm.

I can't say that I have. You have a lead?

Ugh...it's always those types who are hard to talk to. I mean, sometimes you have to lighten up a little and not take everything at face value. Kinda depreciates what's really going on if you do that.

Yeah, I found one on this planet full of ghosts and undead nasties. Seemed like pretty powerful stuff, but taking it with me meant I got haunted for a while. I had to give it to the Magic Guild.

You can say that again. I'll eat my hat the day he finally learns what sarcasm really is.

[Daring Do's hat is practically indestructible. It's lucky Daring thinks that Count Vryko won't be learning sarcasm anytime soon. Or ever.]

Sounds just like another Tuesday for me. Death traps are Wednesdays.

With angry locals on Thursdays and Ahui on Fridays, yeah. Nothing too out of the ordinary, but still worth a nod. Times like that make it good to have friends with the kind of magic to counter that sort of stuff.

Not just friends, but family, too. Darrin, Daren, and Derring helped me on some of my adventures, too. I couldn't have done those without them.

Of course; can't forget about family, either. They're the first group of friends everypony starts with.

Speaking of which, don't be too surprised if anyone compares you to a mare named Rainbow Dash; everyone thinks we're sisters or something like that.

Exactly. Even family comes before adventure, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Rainbow Dash, huh? Never heard of her. What, does she have a rainbow on her flank or something?

A family's worth more than any treasure any old ruin will have.

She does. Looks a lot like us, too; sky blue coat, rainbow mane and tail, a really fast flyer and apparently one of our biggest fans. You literally can't miss her.

I was only joking about the rainbow flank. Still, I'll have to meet her sometime.

Oh, don't worry; I'm sure you will. It's like they put a tracker on our hats or something.

No trackers there. Was she created specifically to hunt me down?

Nah, she's just a really big fan, but she's cool to hang out with. Plenty of energy, never afraid of a challenge, not a bad flyer, either...she's kinda like us, but not.

Oh, well, if she's just a fan, then that's okay. I can never have too many fans given the amount of enemies I have.

She sure sounds like me. Us. But does she have a nigh-indestructible hat that can get you out of almost any deathtrap? That's one of the more important questions in the universe.

Nah, that's still our shtick. I've yet to meet anypony else with a hat anywhere near as amazing as ours, so the universe is still in balance.

Thankfully, you don't usually make many enemies in these games. Just plenty of people who usually go "talking pony!!!!!" the first time they meet you;.

Good. We wouldn't want the universe to be unbalanced. Then everyone would have our hat. Ahui wouldn't be able to pull off my hat.

Nopony? Monsters who want to take over the world? Incarnates of evil? Villains on teleporting tricycles? Insane barbers?

I don't think there's anything Ahui can really pull off. Maybe a scarf, but I'd rather not help him put a fashion sense together.

I dunno what it is, but villains aren't all that popular in games. Maybe you get some anti-heroes, but villains...not so much.

Well, what if he- ...No, that wouldn't look good on him... No... Hm. ...You're right. Ahui's hopeless. Oh well.

That's good to hear. It means less death traps.

There's still death traps; they won't go away. It just means less people to steal your stuff after finishing up a dungeon.

Drat. I was hoping to remove death traps entirely from the equation. I've gotten in way too many, I'm not even phased by them anymore. I need to go to Deathtraps Anonymous.

Eh, it's only an addiction when you want to squeeze through deathtraps all the time. You'll be alright.

Besides, those treasures wouldn't feel as valuable if they were so easy to find, right?

Well, it's more like the longer that goes by without me finding out about them, the more valuable they are.

That's totally alright; occasional traps make those journeys interesting!

...It's when they're back to back that it gets annoying. Seriously, I'm not a big fan of marathon traps.

The point can kiss our flanks. I mean, sure, getting out of deathtraps is easy for us, but it's still time wasted. Masra always said I should spend less time skipping out and going after artifacts and spend more time teaching. But I can't help going after those artifacts.

Hey, it's not our fault; if those artifacts didn't want us hunting them down, they wouldn't be so appealing and shiny and valuable. They'd just be yard sale stuff.
