Essentially, yes. He found my existence...interesting, and chose to engage me as a muse, despite having little time for such pursuits.

It is a common problem. Perhaps they employ us as a means of motivation. If they are able to complete the tasks set for them, they are allowed to engage us in activities they cannot engage in themselves.

It is for much the same reason that humans indulge in other forms of violent media. They step into the shoes of someone stronger and more capable than themselves, so that they may give themselves the illusion of conquering a scenario they could not face in reality.
