Grateful as I am for being let out of that cave - which you put me in, need I remind you - and being allowed some company other than a tiny dragon with a penchant for expensive shoes, do you really have to put me on the back of a giant turtle?

Hasn't my life been strange enough, lately? [A baet, and then the flattest look ever] What do you mean, the dragon's coming too? I still don't have replacements for the last pair he ate!

It would be much simpler to simply not have a dragon, you realise.

I would, if I could. It was charged with guarding me, and apparently dragons take such things seriously. Even fake ones.

[ ...wat. ] I've never heard of a pygmy dragon.

Are you sure it isn't a whelp? Occasionally it takes longer for them to mature than others.

They are true dragons. Those have long since died out. It is only through the pygmies that any magic remains in the world at all. [SOMETHING THAT HE IS ACTUALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT] Most magicl creatures these days are somewhat...lesser than they once were.

Usually when someone mentions a dragon, they seem more concerned about it.

[The elf chuckles softly.]

I take it that this dragon is less of a threat to you, and more of a threat to your wardrobe.

[He makes a face, but there's a certain wry humour to it] Had I not my wardrobe, I'm sure he would be more than willing to change that.

The same could be said about mine but humor goes a long way.

[Imagine being deployed every other week to the most harsh regions of the world to fight demons. Not exactly a glamorous lifestyle, but he does well enough.]
