re: valentine's day
What a silly concept.
I'm no stranger to the history---but who in their right mind?
I suppose it's just another human custom, to offer food in exchange for affection? Doesn't that happen regularly, only there's a specific day of celebration for it?
I'm surprised you all don't go hungry from all your giving.

But not love that provokes starvation.
Neither love that hinders the mind.

You also have fins.

Except in reverse. Affection leads to food rather than food leading to affection.

You couldn't call what I do true affection though.

How dare you.

The oceans are not yours.

[ Let's face it, siren's a cruel name anyways. Bearing her teeth, she hisses in a low manner. ]
I care not for who nor what you are, as you do not care for me. It seems two-leggeds have less honor than those they look down upon.

[ She raises her dagger, baring her teeth. If need be, she'd attack. As those before her head done. Quite honestly, Vanirs and Mermaids did not get along, despite love for the oceans blue. ]
Unless I am mistaken, you have capability of becoming so. [ She taunts. ] Do you not?
no subject
[ Her growl turns to a rabid screech. ]
Are you not sure, two-legged? Have I deceived thee for so long, you've forgotten?
[ You'd only expect the Queen of the mermaids to be as catty as they come, you'd have to look at the company she keeps. ]
no subject
[ She scoffs. ]
I believe it is you who has been deceived.

Says the one who holds her head so high and tells me what I do and don't deserve.
Then at least I wouldn't be so ignorant as to deny it.
no subject
If I did not, you would drag me to the ocean's floor for your next meal.
[She dips her hands into the water and, with magic's help, throws a waterball at Tamara. ]
No knowledge, no love.

Continue to hold your head high then, two legged, and be blinded by the clouds.
[ She then resorts to spitting water in her direction. Tamara could care less about having water thrown at her; she's in it. ]
Says the one dripping of petulance.

[ She strips away her flax linen dress and dives into the water, splashing water everywhere. Surfacing, she throws back her head in mock of a mermaid arching, then gives Tamara a challenging smirk.
She still holds her dagger, of course. ]
A fool at love. A fool at sea. You would deny yourself a fool 'till the day you are dry, alone on the hot sands, staring at the tip of the spear that has pinned you.
no subject
No one here is more a fool than you, and you have wasted my time.
Go challenge a youngling, maybe you'll give them the pleasure of an easy meal.
no subject
[ She then dives down into the waters. ]
no subject
[ Tamara huffs haughtily, drifting in the opposite direction. ]
Good riddance. Your contempt is not wanted here.
no subject
My talents aren't either. Prey can't tell the difference.
no subject
Well. Not usually. Not until they get water in their ears.
no subject
Well, Lovely Tamara, it is too late and thus doesn't matter.

Simply asking questions.

Save for that...one.
[ She makes a vague gesture to all of him. ]
No one after?
no subject
No.
Not then, either, really.
It was a selfish interest.
no subject
[ She sounds awfully final about it. ]
Don't ever let it change, food or not.
no subject
[He smiles]
Still, I can't promise I won't play with my food should the opportunity present itself.
