It's not like he hasn't taught me to be careful. I mean - he made me wear a helmet until I was 20. Or - erm 25? I don't know, it was a really long time ago.

I just - I want him to trust me, y'know? I want to show him I can be a responsible adult. But he's not giving me the chance.

Have you tried talking to him about it? Maybe he doesn't realize how he's hurting you. If nothing else, you could show him all the humans you've met here who don't mean you any harm. Maybe that'll help him a bit.
