To so move me away from my goal--is that your aim? Long have you harbored illusions about me, yet you had kept them idle fantasies.

This is unacceptable. My devotion is to the universe itself. I will not be moved nor changed. And I will become a deity. Make no mistake of that.

Far more insidious, Commander. The idleness has led to action, though this may seem contradictory. She believes I will alter my goal simply because I had faced defeat. The steps along the way must be changed, as they led to failure. But my ultimate goal, that ultimate new world...

No, I will never abandon that, and she is aware of it.

You'll get back on your feet as many times as is necessary until our goal is reached.

...There is something to be said for understanding. Presenting the truth to those who are incapable of understanding it is, perhaps, what caused our defeat before. We have only been defeated by those who opposed us, rather than the execution of the plan itself. We have shackled the gods. We have brought forth that new universe. And yet, in that brief time between, there has been an ending.

I believe that we are doing what is right. And yet perhaps we have been too bold. To present ourselves as what those outsiders can understand may pacify them to stand down during that time of triumph. And then we truly will triumph, once and for all.

I have to ask, though. What do they understand?

What they understand...

Comfort. Denial. Blindness. Those petty pleasures that permit them to turn their attentions away from the world. Those delusions that let them imagine that they are happy and safe.

Illusions, in short.

So we have to present ourselves as... illusions? How, sir, when we are just the opposite of that?

No, Commander. We will reveal to them the truth--that illusions must be discarded. I speak of my dream, but I will make my dream reality. Theirs never will be.

Understood, sir. Less talk, more action, is what you're suggesting... You know me, so you already know I'm all for it.

It seems that they do not understand talk, and only action will reach them. And yet those actions percieved as negative will only turn them against us. We must win their minds above anything.

I cannot wish you enough luck, sir. If only I could fight alongside you...

You may. Perhaps we are not in the same place, but in that way we will be even more effective.
