You're "throwing me to the wolves", so to speak, aren't you? How cruel. You know the sorts that will descend upon this...
Don't expect kindness, nor cooperation, in return my darling.
Yours,
Marie-Louise
Princesse de Lamballe

She's more or less encouraging Revolutionaries to come and harass me.

It can't be that bad~ I mean you aren't stuck in a unknown world where the Gods demand you worship them monthly.
( a pause. )
But do tell me what she's planning, in full detail.
( it's been so long since she's gossiped like this. )
no subject
No, I can't imagine what she's intending to me is nearly as horrible as being stuck in a game.
[But dear lord, she misses you, Marie.]
I hardly know exactly what she's planning, Marie. All I've been warned is that these young men are not fans of aristocracy and are likely to debate or attempt to lecture me on our ways.
no subject
( oh marie-louise, she wants to so badly tell you about her lover. )
Ah I've heard of them from my mun, but I haven't had the chance to meet one. Perhaps one day I shall and we'll share the same suffering.
( have a soft pat on the shoulder. )
Best of luck with that dear. Please do tell me what happens.
no subject
Oh? Is that so? Now it is I who insist upon details.
[She puts her hand on Marie's as soon as she gets that pat on her shoulder...]
You will be the first I turn to, as I fear I may have no one else to go to in this place as it is. I should hope you never meet one of them, it's hard enough sharing this head space with a few of them.

( marie gives her a small smile. )
Oh Marie-Louise, shall I lift your spirits up and tell you all the adventures I've been through?
no subject
You have been through more than anyone I have known, my darling.
[Pulling away, she grins brightly and nods.]
I would love to hear it... I want to know everything you've been through!
no subject
Is that so? Ah I should write a book~
( the queen clasps her hands together and smiles brightly. )
Oh Marie-Louise, my mun put me in this sex game where one must have sex to worship to the gods, and honestly I was worried. I'm not the type to bounce from one person to another, but oh I have this cute little lover boy who is so sweet to me and kind and I've only slept with him. Oh and the best part, I took his virginity.
( she says this proudly. )

If you were to, I would read it and hang off its every word...
[Though the story she receives from her dear friend is not one that she had expected to hear. That seemed far more of Polignac's flavour. Because of this, the Princesse's cheeks color quite a bit at the confession.]
Oh... I don't quite know what to say to that, Marie... I would care to know more about this boy you have taken for your own... He sounds absolutely lovely.
no subject
( of course it sounds more like polignac's but it seems that this new world has forced her into such a situation. at least she's loyal to him?? )
Oh he is Marie-Louise...we had our rough time though. I wish I could tell you that, but needless to say he lied about something, I grew angry and we fought. We got back together though, and he is so playful and although he isn't too experienced in bed, at least he says that, we have had such wonderful moments together.
We both come from such different worlds...needless to say I think I might be in love.
no subject
[It sounds much more like something Polignac would delight to hear as well. Prudish by nature, Marie-Louise hardly knows how to properly respond to such confessions.]
As does every couple, I should think... [Though her rough time resulted in her being a widow at 19.]
I'm so happy for you, Marie. He sounds best suited to you, it's lovely that you have found such a wonderful man. Would I have the chance to meet him someday? I'd like to, very much... Even though I hardly imagine my writer will send me where you are...
no subject
( she pats her hand. )
I believe my writer might message the other's writer and he'll speak to you here. You'll like him, trust me.
no subject
[A smile.]
That would be lovely as well. I would enjoy it.

( a beat. )
I have to work for one thing, nothing too hard, but it's at night almost everyday.
no subject
It's nothing like we're used to, I expect. And you are a far better woman than I am to have adapted to it so well.
no subject
( but it's not just that. )
So many things have changed Marie.....I live alone, yes my lover, Keith, visits me almost every single day, but for the most part I'm alone. All I have is a portrait of little Mouseline that I received from the twelve for Christmas.

No, madame. You and your like are the wolves who live off the suffering of the oppressed.
no subject
But I can assure you I gain no pleasure of seeing the suffering of those beyond the palace walls... Nor do those I tend to.

[Enjolras' fury is building slowly, cold and logical like it always is.
He was not yet alive during the Revolution, but he has heard and read enough to know all he wishes to.]

You over-estimate the power of a lady-in-waiting, monsieur. Perhaps your lecture would be better suited to someone who truly had power over such situations.
no subject
If you tell me you own only one dress, and cannot afford to sell even one of your fine gowns to give to those whose suffering causes you no pleasure, then I shall prove myself no gentleman and strike you for your sophistry.
no subject
I would not offer lies simply to keep you from hounding me any more than you already have.
no subject
There's hardly any reason to show kindness or cooperation to the wolves, for you won't get it from anyone in the first place.
no subject
no subject
I wouldn't expect a single ounce of kindness of cooperation from any compatriots of my father, much less the likes of you.
no subject
You judge harshly for one that has no knowledge of who I am or how I lived my life. I'm not a stereotype, just as I am sure that you aren't either.
no subject
If you want judgement, I have plenty of friends who can provide.
no subject
You also speak of a time more than 40 years after my death, monsieur. I care not to debate these things with you, it will do little after all has been said and done... And more so, we have all played our parts in necessary history.

I'm afraid, however, "wolves" is the most appropriate at this moment in time.
