I suppose if I were to answer honestly, I wouldn't mind a return to the old days. Working in the service of a strong king. Not my king, of course. Even if things had ended differently, I don't think I could return to Homurabi-sama's side again. And heaven knows where Ryuuko-sama has gone. Still... a king worth serving would suffice, I think.

What's that? "Weren't you retired?" Well, yes, that's true too. Though while the idleness had some novelty at first, I've come to find it downright dull. As it is, the thought of whether or not Nanaya or Lulu know how to brew Homurabi-sama's tea to his exact preferences still keeps me up at night. I wasn't built for leisure. Servitude runs too deep in the blood, I guess. 

So why don't we go with that. Go find me a king worthy of my service. That should at least keep you until this sudden interest in playing me again passes.

On the contrary, sire. I never stopped watching Homurabi-sama.

That said, a Child has a duty to obey his King. I did my duty voluntarily and without apology. I've never once refused to take ownership of that fact.

[As far as Shirogane knew, there is only one principle: keeping the balance between shadow and light. Sawaki's sole purpose for existing was to preserve that balance. That Sawaki had not only voluntarily abandoned that in order to help Homurabi (Shirogane would never call him King) but wasn't even sorry about it?

[Shirogane never thinks for one moment to ask Sawaki why he had done it. Whatever the explanation, there was no reason in letting your emotions cloud your judgement and committing the crime of leading the world to destruction.

Ah, it was soul_campaign, though in the end she brought someone else there, which was for the best, I suppose. [Despite how curious he was, there was a reason for him to want to avoid that place, after all.]

A King is always a King in the same way a servant is always a servant. It's as much a matter of demeanor as it is a matter of title. The title may no longer be yours, but you are no less a King to me now than you were in life.

... That said, I suppose there's no harm in just thinking of it as a couple of old retirees on an extended holiday.
