We've all been in that position at one point or another. I'm just glad to see you seem to be doing well.

[ she assumes he'd tell her otherwise. ]

It's not that bad. There's some pretty scary people in here with me. A few nice ones to balance 'em out.

So what's the deal for you?

[lifelines]

That's always good to know. You'd be surprised to hear who else is here with me.

In the "headspace" or the "games?"

Headspace. Why, who's in there with you?

[lifelines]

Ranna. Nikola, when he deigns to put in an appearance. [ pause. ] And Ashley.

[changedman]

...oh.

[That's for Ashley and Nikola.]

There are several others, of course, none of which either of us are familiar with on a personal level -- though I'm told you might like the Starfleet Commander. I've also run into Abby Corrigan a few times, but she doesn't often get a chance to do anything.

...Ah. I think you win with that one.

[changedman]

A Starfleet Commander? Aw man.

[He looks positively pained with jealousy.]

[lifelines]

[ she chuckles softly. she has missed him so much. ]

If you're lucky and very nice, he may pay you a visit. He's actually very kind. The starship he apparently is second-in-command on is called Voyager, if that helps you any.

[changedman]

[That pained look doesn't go away.]

Yeah... yeah.

Mun says you're somewhere with dragons?

[lifelines]

[ poor henry ]

Indeed. They're fairly interesting as far as I can tell at the moment. Will's here with me, as well as a much younger version of Dr. Watson. And ah, I've adopted a 7-year-old girl named Rydia.

[ look at that, henry. she is making progress. ]

[A grin slowly climbs onto his face.]

You adopted a girl?

Hey, that's great.

[lifelines]

[ her smile widens and she nods. ]

She reminds me of Ashley at times -- [ hey, look, she can talk about that without getting uptight. james watson, what have you done to her? ] -- and she's one of the most compassionate people I know. I've been looking after her for a few months shy of a year now and it wasn't long ago that she started calling me "Mama."

[ she's come a long way in the almost-year that she's been there. it's all thanks to james and rydia, honestly. they've done a number on her. ]

[changedman]

[If Henry's eyes are a little glossy, it's just a... trick of the light, yeah. Momma Magnus, you've grown.]

She sounds like a real handful. Mama, huh?

[He's pretty sure he'd love her, just from the sound of it.]

[lifelines]

[ she won't comment. she'll let him have his dignity. ]

She can be at times, but her kindness makes up for it. I'm afraid I've told her a bit about you and she's quite eager to meet you for herself someday.

[changedman]

Mun says I might be in danger of going somewhere. So anything is possible. And hey, it sounds a little better than some of my other options, since a bunch of you are there already.

[lifelines]

Aside from what appears to be arguments between the dragons and events that happen at random, it hasn't been a terrible existence. Old City's there, as is the Sanctuary itself. If your mun decides to give you a toss in our direction, we'd be more than happy to have you.

[changedman]

The Sanctuary's there? What'd they do, dragon-mojo it?

[lifelines]

Something of the sort and the entire city as well. I doubt they'd answer if we asked them directly. Perhaps in time they will at least hint to us.

[changedman]

The city? Wow. Well, color me impressed.

[lifelines]

It's a little slice of home. I suppose the dragons thought I needed it at the time. And before you ask, I haven't touched your room or any of your personally claimed areas.

[He boggles for a moment.]
