I can certainly appreciate that you miss me, mundane, but if you have no set plans in mind for me, please leave me alone. [ Or, you know, leave her alone anyways; that's an even better choice. ] I don't have time to sit around and wait for you to make up your mind.

Unfortunately, that's something I'm very much aware of already. [ She's been in a game before, after all. ]

What ideas does your mundane have in mind for you? Mine brings me out on a whim, never sending me anywhere where I can be useful. She's insufferable.

[ Kahlan smiles a little, a knowing edge to it; Cara, of all people, doesn't really have room to talk about being insufferable. ] Other than sending me somewhere - preferably sooner rather than later, she says - I honestly wish I knew. She keeps looking into this place called Rapture but she seems almost incapable of making a decision.

Mine is the same. I believe she intends to send me somewhere she's been referring to as a "horror game where I can kill stuff." I can't say it sounds too horrible but she's been thinking on it for months now and I'm bored.

I'm surprised you haven't found a way to hurry her along, Cara. [ Her smile widens into something a bit more teasing. ] What place is it?

I'm surprised as well. She ignores my threats completely. Obviously she doesn't know me very well.

She doesn't even know where. She thinks any game where I can kill stuff will do as if that's the only thing that entertains me. [Well, that might be partially true.]

Or she thinks she's stronger than you. [ Which Kahlan believes considering their the ones pulling the strings. ]

There doesn't seem to be a shortage of those. The only real requirement for the place my mundane will eventually settle on is that I don't lose my powers. [ It's why deciding on a game has been tricky; her two favorites take powers away. ]

[Hmph.] If she does, she's an idiot.

That would be unfortunate. At least your mun cares for retaining your powers.

She didn't before when she originally started thinking about sending me somewhere. Needless to say, I'm more than thankful that she's changed her mind.

Mine loves to take my powers and even more, my agiels. Stupid mundanes.

Where would you like to go? I suspect anywhere you can find Richard.

I'm sure the people in wherever you might end up would appreciate that. [ After all, they probably don't even know what an agiel is. ]

That would be preferable, although unlikely. [ There aren't exactly a lot of Richards running around, especially in games. ] It doesn't matter much to me, honestly; I'd just like to be able to help the people wherever I end up. If I can't be in the Midlands helping you, Richard and Zedd, I may as well help others.

True. I have not run into Richard much around here.

Don't you want a break from helping people? It's almost all you do. I think you need a vacation.

Neither have I.

[ She shakes her head slightly. ] No, I don't; I enjoy helping them.

[Cara will never understand you.] I know you do but you must get a little tired of everyone always needing your help.

No. If anything, I get tired of the fact that they need help at all. I wish that weren't the case, but when it is, I'll do whatever I can for whomever needs help.

There's a bright side to her not leaving you alone, you know.

[ She smiles. ] I guess there is.

[ and, as usual, seeing kahlan smile brings one of his own to his lips. ]

Better now, honestly. I can understand why your mundane would miss you. [ but there are more important things to discuss. things that make him worry. ] How are you holding up? She hasn't done anything terrible, has she?

[ That might be the beginnings of a blush coloring her cheeks. ] She's barely paid me any attention for quite some time now, though she does have her moments of missing me. It seems that she wants to actually remedy my "homelessness" situation, as she calls it, this time around.
