I'm not even going to bother dignifying you with a title.

I thought you were done with this--with these games, with throwing me into any damn situation that your oh-so-creative mind sees fit. And I could have lived with that. I could have lived with a little corner of your headspace. I could have been fine with going on the occasional walk, or journey, or whatever you want to call it.

I could have enjoyed retirement.

And here you are, gearing up to throw me to the wolves. Glinda would call your a bully, and Fiyero would doubtlessly have some witticism to throw at you. I don't. I don't have anything.

Wolves can be quite a task, it's true. But maybe some adventure would lift your spirits!

I've done adventure. Several times.

Seems like they were hard goings, sweet lady. I'm sorry. Sometimes adventures are pretty harsh, I have to admit. But I wonder why she wants to call you back into it unless she wants to find a new road for you to travel? Aye, and maybe a lighter one?

[An eyebrow arched, her arms crossed. A charmer, was he? Well, Elphaba could deal with that.]

My mundane seems to be leaning towards a game involving a god looking for a mate. I've no idea what goes through his mind.

Ah my pity is mine to give to who I like, Miss. But as it happens it's not pity but compassion. Though sometimes they can look similar, aye? Honestly I have no idea what goes through mun's minds either. If I did I think I'd be a lot more frightened than I am now. [he laughs]

All that aside, though, what is it you usually do for a living, if I may be so bold? I am Thatch, Whitebeard Pirate extraodinarre and a fairly decent swordsman if I have to be.

Regardless of what you call it, it's far from necessary. [She is so, so unimpressed, Thatch.]

Ah, well, necessary... [He smiles and shakes his head, palms out] There's a lot of life that isn't. Good booze, for instance. Necessary? No. But warms your belly on a cold night and what's wrong with a little belly warming now and again, aye?

[He whistles low and tucks his hands in his pockets]

Impressive title. Must not get on with the government yourself, then, eh? Unless wicked is some sort of job description. [heh] But it's nice to meet you, Miss Thropp.

[She gives a very small smile.] I'll agree with you on alcohol, at any rate.

[Aaaaand the smile drops.] One way of putting it.

[Ah. That struck a nerve. Still she has a pretty smile and he'd like to see it again. Now the way to do it...]

Well vivre la revolution, I say. As a pirate, being a pain in the ass to all governmental bodies is practically my job description. You should think about joining up, miss. I think you'd like it.

Good luck getting them to leave you alone again - listening to any of us has never seemed to be their strongpoint.

Apparently, I'm his favorite. Not exactly a high compliment.

[He smiles a little, charmingly - aaaaand yes Elphie, he may or may not be flirting a little.]

[She is well accustomed to rich playboys flirting with her. Well, just the one. Elphaba shrugs.]

I'm not sure what else to say about it. Four years ago, he threw me into a game; I haven't had peace since.

[Clearly she adapts fast.]
