I have to tell you that I'm getting rather tired of people jumping the gun and going half-cocked on wild ideas.

[sigh] I've got things I've got to bloody well do.

Then posts. When she kept talking she was going to do it two, three times. I don't know, didn't seem to follow through.

[He's worried about his writer because new fandom. Baw.]

Look, bit of advice: it's easier not to fight them. They do what they want, in spite of us. If they like or hate us especially, they tend to torture us. Best thing to do is keep a low and even profile.

[And that's about as close as Sherlock gets to expressing that he might like Lestrade.]

In the hope that what, eventually they get bored and move onto something else? I've been watching this bored. That seems to happen quite a bit. You'd think we were all bloody party favors being passed around for New Years.

Excited? This is serious business! Not some kind of...of game. [frown] and yes I know they seem hell bent on playing these games but...

[Serious, brooding pose for a moment. It doesn't fit him. It's replaced with an exasperated sigh.]

[Sherlock is annoyed. Did he speak a strange language.]

[Now he speaks very rapidly, as if offering the solution to a deduction.]

They like to inflict pain on us. If they like us or hate us, they will inflict more pain than they do on the rest. You want to be good enough to encourage them to play with you, but not so good that they want to torture you.

[No, it doesn't quite fit him. Molly notices that. Brooding works on Sherlock, but not the Detective Inspector. Oh, he's handsome in his own way, certainly, but brooding doesn't work in his favor] I dunno, I think it's sort of flattering, really. I mean, they choose us for a reason, right? They care about us in some way or another. I... think it's kind of nice. To be wanted. [She shrugs sheepishly]

Wha? Well, y-yes. Why, do I look..n-not all right? [She blinks, looking down at herself, now suddenly self-conscious]

Indeed. I understand the sentiment completely. Why else would I be here, and I assure you, that I have a great deal of other pressing matters that require my attention.

[Someone is annoyed. SO annoyed by his writer's shenanigans.]

And if he does find out, I recommend reminding him that he is here for the same reason that you are.

[Not strange. He's just in all of the denial for a moment. At the mention of pain infliction, of torture, and his mind jumps to one person and then away from it because.]

[What he's thinking: Is there any way out of this. Proper answer. No. But the man can dream.]

I shouldn't be surprised that you have a handle on this already despite the incongruity of the situation. Still a sort of kidnapping isn't it.

[He's the relaxed one, the down to earth one who's looking very, very lost. At the mention of being chosen for a reason he looks amused-then laughs aloud.]

Mine's got aspirations of joining up with her local police force in some capacity and says I'm more along the lines of an actual "cop" then the man himself.

[amused] did say I was a bit underrated. I guess that was nice.

[And then concern] What? No. You look fine. Nice. [Awkward gesturing] Very nice. I was just asking. I'm torn between thinking this is some sort of kidnapping and a vacation.

Although from what the people in here say it's anything but. Sending people off to fight monsters and zombies.

[Shelock smirks.]

I went willingly. My mun has the same issue with boredom that I do.

[Sort of - no shooting out walls. Sherlock doesn't mention how displeased he was with the idea at first.]

[His brow furrows. His questions are left unsaid]

And does she have you shooting up zombies or rehabilitating or doing anything along those lines?

Nothing like that yet... an abandoned city... that remains abandoned. Quite the mystery there, but apparently they need "more players" before it opens.

And a place where... one reality bleeds into another.

[He shrugs - neither of those seem too bad.]

Oh, really? Well, she's right - you are a bit underrated. I mean, it's usually John and Sherlock getting all the glory, isn't it? You help a lot too...

[She wrinkles her nose] Hm...yes, monsters. I've begun tackling those at another place. My mun calls it Eljay, but that's not a real word...

It can get a little...taxing, I guess - getting thrown into situations just to see how they'll turn out. Sort of makes me feel like a guinea pig, sometimes.

[Still, she brightens into a smile. Ever the optimist] Still, at least we've got our friends, right?

[Just kind of staring blankly at that.]

...Gosh, and here I was complaining about a simple trip to the states. Even with the ensuing apparent super powers one reality bleeding into another along with an abandoned city..

[he hesitates] You supposed to give that city a government?

Help keep them from getting themselves arrested nine times out of ten. [frown] Organized babysitter ten times out of ten.

[Except he wouldn't trade it for anything and it shows. He was born to be a police man and to be quite honest watching Sherlock work is...amazing. Astounding. Nothing short of a super power.]

...John's where I'm being told I'm going. I suppose that is something. You have people looking after you right?

Don't be thick. Government is Mycroft's job. No. The city is picking individuals to repopulate it. But I'm going because something happened to the previous inhabitants. I intend to find out what.

I'll be honest with you John. Some of my erstwhile flatmates...so to speak...could give yours a run for their money.

I have to admit though, She could have done a lot worse.

Bet if anyone could figure it out it would be you.

I doubt it will be easy to sort. I don't think "The Management" will be terribly forthcoming with information into that mystery.

[That question brings a small look of sadness to Sherlock's features, which he covers up by standing straighter.]

[No mention of John being his only friend.]

[Lestrade...didn't see that. But he has ideas. He figures. Maybe. He could be wrong.]

London will never fall as long as Mrs. Hudson is around.

[Sherlock sighs.]

[She chuckles a little] Funny statistics, those. I doubt it's the pay that's keeping you around. [She knows he loves his job, it's so clear. He's certainly one of the most admirable men on the police force she's ever encountered]

[Molly shrugs a little and slowly nods] Yes, in a fashion. Got a friend or two I meet up with regularly, and I just recently got involved in a... I think they call them verses? Anyway, one of those things that muns like to do to experiment with strange situations.
