Of course! I can't be far away from you, right? [No need to talk about the games that separate them.]

That's right. [There is that. And not wishing to make her friends unhappy, she resolves to avoid just that.] Never.

[A small nod, her expression turns severe.]

A city in America. Something is abducting people and sending them there.

Mako-chan! Will it be alright? It sounds dangerous!

I think I'll be safe, if I'm careful. [She rubs the back of her head.] I'm more worried about being alone and not knowing anyone again.

Mako-chan...

Listen, I know I can't be there with you right now, but I'll always be thinking of you - always! I'll be right there by your side in my heart, no matter what happens.

I'm not ready to be separated.

I know. [There's a sad, knowing smile there. Makoto hugs her again.] But we'll both be strong. Where we go -- there will be people that are lonely just like us, and they could use friends too. So let's smile for them, ne?

[She's been there a year and a half. The smile is a little worn.]

[She shakes her head.] Not that I've seen or heard.

While you're here.... [Oh look at those big shiny eyes.]

Did you cook anything for lunch today?

[She can't help but laugh.]

I did!

[And she just happens to be carrying a furoshiki with her -- rose pink with roses all over it -- and lovingly wrapped up inside it it a somewhat larger-than-usual bento box.]

Nikuman, fried shrimp, and katsu sandwiches.

[Naturally she has more than one utensil; she always expects to share]

Won't you have some?

[Hey, her natural state is 'hungry for good food', alright? It's not her fault. It's how she was born.]

Delicious!! [Usagi leans riiiight in close and grabs up the extra chopsticks.]

[Mako doesn't mind. She finds a place to sit with Usagi and takes up the other set of chopsticks to enjoy her share. It tastes better this way. Good food is nothing without people to share it with.]

[Usagi eats messily by habit, with no concern for the mess made by how quickly she devours the food.]

This ish good! [Her voice is only slightly altered by having her mouth full, but the intentions are good.]
