Making sure we enough supplies and that Bombur hasn't eaten everything is a good priority right now. Protecting the burglar is also the priority of late. Ever since the encounter with the stone giants, we need to watch out for each other more than ever. No foolishness anymore, scribe.

Gathering the company is a task that I will not attend to. Getting a fire going before we set out on the next bit of our road. Filled with dangers as usual. I will be ready to fend of anything that threatens my company.

Scribes sounds like they're very - very...[Bilbo searches for the word] ...eccentric. A dwarf and hobbit! Really!

Her? I have heard many scribes speak of this Thilbo nonsense. I just pray that mine does not agree with it. If he does then I will have a speak with him. [He grunted.]

My mistake. [Bilbo looks sympathetic - speaking with muns can be a tedious business. At times it can make trekking all over Middle Earth look like a holiday!] You probably won't know his opinion on such matters without talking to him regardless.

[With the difficulties Bilbo has riding a pony, he might not do so well his first venture on Thorin? Seeing as Bilbo must consider Hobbit Logistics]

I could put some effort into it. It's an odd image, I admit. [Bilbo once again proves to be the master of understatement. If you had told him such a mental image would pop up back in Bag End, he wouldn't have believed it]
