I know you're nervous. It's been almost a year since the last time we talked. And I mean really talked.

But I know you'll be all right. Stop worrying about the shoes you have to fill. I don't think anyone's expecting you to be perfect after such a long time.

Just focus on doing your research and keep practicing, and it'll work out all right in the end. I'm sure of it.

If anyone's going to be good at pushing you, it's... you. [Sokka finds himself easily amused, okay?] Besides, you've got really tiny feet, so really tiny shoes. [He smiles fondly.] Don't worry so much, Katara — it's not a competition.

Sokka! [Guess who's really happy to see you?] Do I even want to ask how you know so much about my feet? [They're not that tiny, sheesh. But she's smiling at him too.] I just think my writer's nervous and talking about shoes to fill because she's seen others who write me, and she thinks they do a better job of it.

Oh, c'mon! One, we shared a village for, oh, I don't know, forever? I've smelled your stinky feet since the day you were born. [Pot calling the kettle black, isn't it?] And two, you can't compare yourselves to others like that. I mean, look what it did to Aang to compare himself to the other Avatars.

So? That doesn't mean anything, Sokka! And my feet don't smell! [Yes, that is definitely the pot calling the kettle black.] You have no idea what it was like for me, living with you for however long. You know, your feet don't smell good either.

I'm not comparing myself to anyone; it's my writer who's doing it. I told her she needs to stop, but she's not listening to me.

And you haven't made her listen yet? [He smirks.] That's got to be a first. I've never met anyone that can effectively ignore you when you do that screechy-voice thing. [Bwahaha!]

Sokka, you know I don't have a screechy-voice-thing! [...except her voice is actually getting screechy. But she's annoyed, so can you blame her?

She catches herself up short, realizing how she sounds, and she turns just a little bit red.]

[She crosses her arms and makes a "hmph" sound.]

Let's talk about something else, okay?

Okay, okay, fine. [He even puts his hands up, like admitting defeat, but that smile's not disappearing.] How about instead of your shrill, girly-grump, we talk about that snoring that has an uncanny resemblance to a warthawk? Have you made your player listen to that yet?

[He clears his throat and imitates an awful sound, beginning with a snort and ending with a squeal. It's ridiculously exaggerated, but that's what Sokka does best!] Ten minutes of that and they'll forget everything they learned for the day!

[You see this face? This is Katara being really, really angry with you, Sokka.] Why is it that every time I try to talk to you, you just end up pushing all of my buttons? Do you really have to do that every time? [Yes, yes, she knows about siblings and arguing, but it's really quite frustrating!]

Everyone knows you're the one who keeps us up at night with your... your incessant sleep-talking thing! Does your player know about that?

[She dramatically waves her arms around, making a ridiculous pose.] I'm Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe, and me and my boomerang will clobber you so hard, you won't know what hit you!

[She smirks at her brother.] I'm sure your player gets tired of hearing you constantly brag all the time!

[He's thoughtfully rubbing his chin while he takes this all in.] Hold on, hold on.

Good posture. Got the name right, got the weapon right. And I do hit so hard people don't know what hit them...

[Sokka snaps his fingers.] You're instantly more likable, little sis! [Yep. Completely ignoring that last part. How can anyone get tired on him? Pfft. Unlikely.] You've got almost all the right stuff to be successful now. Keep up the good work!

[strum]

♪ Oh, the sky is blue and water's wet
Katara can kill you with her sweat ♪

[.....]

I've never tried killing someone with my sweat, you know. [You know why she's never tried that? Oh, because that is so gross and so wrong.]

[strum]

[Oh, no, you did not just bring that up.]

I'm not a tearbender, I'm a waterbender! [There is a world of difference between the two, all right?]

Haven't you talked to your mun for a year?

That's right. She said she lost my voice, whatever that means. I guess she got it back though, because she's writing me again.

You gotta be a bit more motivating than that. Put some volume into it.

If I motivate her, then she's just going to end up biting off more than she can chew. I don't want that to happen, and I'm not even sure I want to go anywhere.

Good point. Muns sometimes have terrible ideas about 'suitable games'. I got stranded in a tree.

I think they have terrible ideas about more than just "suitable games". She shouldn't be sending me anywhere, not when she thinks she can't handle another game.

That's really terrible, Toph. Did you manage to get out of it all right?

Well, it was a stone building in a tree. A very big tree. But everyone else could leave and go explore the forest, while I was stuck at home because we were stuck in the air.

We're taking the building somewhere else now. Somewhere with solid ground.

[Just... what?]

How could a building be in a tree? That doesn't make sense.

[It makes even less sense when she hears the part about being stuck in the air.]

It's a moving building?

[That's fascinating, even if she doesn't understand it.]

Yeah. It's got all kinds of weird controls and stuff in the lower floors. Don't ask me how it flies without a balloon or anything.

You have all these words of encouragement for your mun, but... what about you?

What about me, Zuko? It's my mun who needs the encouragement, now that she's started to work on my application.

You might not need the encouragement; how do you feel about this, coming to a place like Adstring? It's not going to be easy, Katara.

I'm not happy about it, because I don't want to go, but it looks as though my mun's made up her mind. I hoped she wouldn't, because it doesn't seem like a good place for anyone to be in.

It's not. [ He won't lie, not to her. ] It's me, Sokka, Ty Lee and... Azula.

Like I said - it's not going to be easy.

[ Then he adds: ] Toph left a few weeks ago, as did you and Jet before that.

[She appreciates the honesty. It's better than beating around the bush.] I'm not sure what to think about Azula being there. [She looks worried and a little uncomfortable.] It's not like we don't have history with her.

[She nods.] Nothing in life is easy. Why would this be any different?

It's probably going to be strange having me back, right? I won't remember the same things the other me did.

[ooc: Sorry for bailing on you like this, but it's getting late. I'll respond when I wake up! :D ]

It's going to be weird, yeah. You were uh- you were there for a long time. [ Urgh. It's going to be frustrating is more like it having to retell her everything and explain things, argue that none of it makes sense, etc. ]

Things are also weird with Azula. I don't know how to explain it, a lot has happened. I guess you'll find that out for yourself.

I know, I heard about that. I wish I could make things easier on everyone, but I don't know how to do that. [She sighs.] More than anything else, that's why I think this is a bad idea. There's going to be so much I won't know, that you and Sokka will have to explain. It's going to take a really long time.

[She shrugs.] I guess I will. Is she different at all, or is she still the same? [She guesses she can't be that different, because how does anyone change after having a total breakdown like the one Azula had?]

It's not like this would be the first time I've had to explain Adstring and what's been going on between everyone to someone.

She's... different. Calmer.

I know, but you must be really tired of it by now. I would be, if I had to explain it over and over again.

[That takes her by surprise.] Calmer? Azula? [She can't help the skeptical tone in her voice.]
