Golden Globes
Oh, do stop thinking about this.
[He waves off any comments the mun wishes to make.]
Clearly they are idiots.
[He clears his throat.]
It's fine, really. It just goes to show that Americans don't know a good thing when they see it.
[He sighs heavily.]
Yes, I know you're an American, I would say you're the exception.

I hate repeating myself. I've told you: most people.

Well. I don't have an issue.- beyond the normal anyway. I was trying to make my writer feel better about how a certain award ceremony turned out.
no subject
Ah. I take it one or both of us didn't do well? [This mun missed the globes]
no subject
[He sighs heavily.]
Dreadful thing, hope.
no subject
That's too bad. Maybe next year then.
[But Sherlock gets a reproachful look.] Hope is a very important thing to have. Keeps people going and striving for something better.
no subject
God. Don't encourage the writers! What are you thinking?
[He sighs.]
Look, hope is like sentiment - it's found on the loosing side.
[Mostly because what does the winning side need hope for? They're winning, but let's not go there.]
no subject
Hope is not like sentiment in the least. [Pick your battles, Watson.]
no subject
[At the second remark, Sherlock pulls a face.]
Explain.
[He means he doesn't understand how that could possibly be true when he just said the opposite.]
no subject
Okay, for example, someone kidnapped or stranded, you can't just say they should not hope for rescue. That hope might be one of the only things keeping them alive. It's a vital part of a persons well-being. Sentiment is more of a bonus feeling about others.
[He's giving it his best shot, likely though Sherlock will not get it.]
no subject
[Nope, doesn't get it at all, sorry, John.]
no subject
I suppose then you should count yourself as losing the moment you take on a case? Because you hadn't caught them yet? Hardly seems right in either case.
no subject
Being challenged isn't the same as 'loosing'.
[Yes! That should work!]
no subject
So the "rules" change for you?
[Now John just looks amused. He's not dead set on winning this argument but it's enough that Sherlock had to pause and think like a normal person.
And he's got half a notion the next time they'really on a case, he'll just put in now and again "Well we've no hope of finding that..."]
no subject
[Sorry, John, that really wasn't what he said at all. He glares, John can stop looking amused any time now.]
no subject
It's only ridiculous to you, Sherlock. You're a minority.
no subject
Usually am.... problem?
no subject
no subject
[Because, well, that will still happen, of course.]
no subject
[Maybe Watson missed Sherlock...so says the mun :)]
I'm not admitting to that. He'll be insufferable.
no subject
[Sherlock's feeling like a failure now.]
no subject
Let's say I'm avoiding a certain event. [Denial of Reichenbach till third season.] It's definitely not boring to have you around.
no subject
[Nice, Sherlock. That'll help with denial.]
no subject
THAT ICON IS NOT HELPING!]Stop it. [warning tone]
no subject
[John brought it up... making Sherlock think about it. No one ever thinks/asks Sherlock how he feels about it.]
no subject
Maybe we can talk about something else? [DENIAL]
no subject
I suppose. But! Only because it would be pointless to talk about that before the show provides us with more information. Not because you've asked me.
[Sherlock can be such a twat.]
no subject
[He'll take what he can get. Ah, but his mun has read the books. She knows what will happen next~]
no subject
[Having read the books means little in the face of fanboying that is Gaitiss.]
