A new home?

Will I be...safe, there?

Well, not yet. I only just got there... but there are a few people I think I could become friends with. I even met a fairy! I'll have to introduce you.

[A fairy! Her face lights up at that.]

A real fairy?

Really! I was excited, too! [ he's being completely serious. ] She was flying around outside, all covered in green feathers. She was very nice to me! On top of that, there was a man with fox ears and a tail, and I've heard there's a troll around, too. I can hardly believe it.

A troll? Like under the bridge...?

That's what I thought, but apparently, it's a friendly troll. I haven't met him or her, myself. [ he smiles. it warmed his heart to see her looking excited - most of their time together had been spent in fear. ] There are a few people around your age, too, Ib. I'm sure you'll be able to make lots of friends.

Yeah...

[She doesn't sound too confident on that one.]

I'm not...good at making friends...

[She pauses to straighten her skirt.]

I want to, though...

[ aww, Ib... he crouches down to get on eye level with her. ]

I think you're fine. You made friends with me, right?

[She nods, even though she thinks that's kind of different...]

Then you'll definitely make more friends, too - I'm nothing special, after all. A sweet girl like you shouldn't worry about something like that. People will be happy to speak with you!

Okay. [She gives a small smile.]
