Because they're weird and they latch on to your legs when you're just trying to cross through a creek.

Or, do you mean vampires? I really don't like those either, but for totally different reasons.

Well, either's fine, although most people don't have opinions on vampires, so those are probably more interesting to talk about.

Well, I don't know a ton about them so I'll just stick to the basics.

They're unnatural creatures that drink blood and spread their curse without realizing exactly how they effect the world.

What do you mean by "unnatural"? Kind of a loaded word, that. Though I'd say that no one really knows how what they do affects the world. That kind of cause and effect stuff is complicated!

Let's pretend I can see the cause of their existence and the effect it's having. I mean, they're a small part, but they're definitely a part.

The real problem. It's kind of hard to explain. It's just if the bigger problem didn't exist, there's a good chance they wouldn't either. They just spread corruption, is all.

So I can't say I am the biggest fan of them.

So, like, what's this big awful horrible thing you keep vaguely referring to, anyway? Inquiring minds want to know.

Okay, I'll try explaining it.

You know how death and decay are things that happen? Everything falls apart and everything dies? Well, imagine if the cause of this was some big... thing. Now, pretend like it went crazy and wants to destroy everything before its time.

Vampires are something it created, or they're a side effect. I don't know why they are here. I just know they're a part of it and they aren't helping things.

Hm, I feel like I would know if something like that was going on... then again, it may well have already happened. That would explain a lot, after all! Although I can't speak to the involvement of vampires.

It's kind of going on behind the scenes. People don't see it, they just see the symptoms. Like vampires, and cancer, toxic waste, radioactive dead zones, plague, and those sort of things.

Well, I have been told recently that I may, in fact, be from the future! Or at least to some people, possibly there are people around who are from my future.

So, yeah! Let's just say that in 2019, it's not going on behind the scenes anymore.
