You have made the right decision. It is better to focus more on your responsibilities now. It is one less distraction. [It's always better to do the practical thing, right?]
I am not upset. I won't be returning to the lab and the professor. I can go where I wish now. I have worlds to explore. I will learn as much as I can so I can become a great leader.

Maybe. I met many interesting people.
