A bunch of inactive muses have suddenly gotten restless!
Confused about this sudden influx of headspace activity, are we? Please, mundane, do refrain from attempting to fool yourself. You know as well as I do that none of us have ever truly "died"; we simply have been waiting for the right time and place to reawaken and partake in more shenanigans.
The place is now ready, while the time is, admittedly, still uncertain. But, no matter. Keep your priorities in check, and all shall proceed as planned!
... Hmm. Speaking of plans... do attempt to refresh your memory of those ideas from previous years. There may very well be an opportunity to put them into motion.

Charon. What news do you have for me?
no subject
The news I have to report depends entirely on what sort of news you wish to hear about, oh dearest leader.
no subject
News of Team Galactic's plans. The new world.
no subject
You mean the one that has yet to succeed? Fuhyahyah! If the you back in my source material has fully realized his dream of creating a new world, then I have yet to hear about it. The point in time from which I was taken was just after his departure for Spear Pillar.
If you mean to inquire about my exploits here, then it is a far longer story than that. And I certainly have no desire to bore you with such undoubtedly meaningless details, Cyrus sir.
no subject
Do not push your luck, Charon. You work for Team Galactic only because I say so. I wish to learn about the exploits of Team Galactic as I have been away some time. [Tch. Mun, that is YOUR fault.]
You will tell me now.
The mun apologizes in advance for the TL;DR. ^^;
[Cue a ~*~dramatic sigh~*~ from this obnoxious old twit while he dredges up his memories of the past few years.]
Approximately three years ago, I was pulled to a location referred to simply as "The Island" by its various inhabitants, although you may hear players refer to it as "Pokedressing". Over the course of several months, all three of my fellow Commanders, a handful of grunts, and an incarnation of you joined me there as well.
In August of 2010, Team Galactic attempted to instigate the creation of the new world by chaining the Original One to do our bidding. We came quite close to achieving success... but of course, the other inhabitants of the island saw fit to interfere. Arceus was freed and our leader vanished, leaving Saturn to assume command of the team. Cyrus would eventually return from wherever he had been spirited away to, but did not indicate any immediate plans in the making.
Shortly after Cyrus's return, my player fell into inactivity, thus ending what I am able to tell you.

From one pokemon scientist to another...
Oh my, if it isn't a member of Team Galactic. For all this time I was under the impression that your team had disbanded years ago. Truly wonders never cease...
Beware, fellow scientist, for there is snark to be had.
Pah. I know not where you are from, but Team Galactic was still putting its plans into motion the last I was aware. What business is it of yours, anyway?
I always enjoy a good snark-off.
If you wish to know, the location I am currently stationed in is the Unova Region. I imagine you've heard of it? As for what business it is of mine, allow me to explain. I am a scientist, my name is Colress. Seeing a member of Team Galactic made me quite curious, so I just had to investigate.
You see, the point in time I am from has your organization already disbanded as I said before. However, if what you say is true...then that means people from different timelines really can interact in a place such as this without any negative repercussions. Or...perhaps you're from another universe entirely? Either way, I've yet to experience something like this before. It's quite the astounding discovery.
As do I! Even if it's just parenthetical snarks.
[The derision in his voice is practically tangible. Of all the Galactics you could've encountered, Colress, you ended up with one whose ego is bigger than his
planetarylunar namesake.]As far as I have observed over the past few years, individuals from parallel universes, alternate timelines, and different points on the same timeline are all capable of interacting in locations of this nature with no repercussions to speak of. I have even found that multiple iterations of the same being can interact here with no ill effects, aside from a potential-- but perfectly justifiable-- sense of disconcertment.
Therefore, the surprise you feel at seeing those who by all technicalities could only exist in the past should be minimal... or at the very least, should eventually decrease with time.
As long as there's a worthy adversary I'm cool with that.
[Colress brings his index and middle finger to his face, adjusting his glasses before folding both arms behind his back. Should Charon be paying attention, he may notice the small smirk present on his fellow scientist's face.]
Indeed. Although with what I have already discovered, in addition to what you have just told me, I doubt any further situations bearing similarities to our own should surprise me. You can only discovery the same thing once after all. But I digress...
During your introductory "post" you mentioned something about having plans that you wish to put into motion. Might I be so bold as to ask what they are?
Let's hope his eagerness to yak about himself doesn't dock worthiness points.
Curious, are we? Ask as you wish, though you may not necessarily receive a full answer. I'd prefer to maintain some element of surprise with my plans, after all. [
That and the mun is still trying to figure things out, FML.]I am, however, willing to divulge this much. With the cooperation of a select few, I can begin to lead Team Galactic down a new path. One that is profitable and more readily achievable than creating a new universe. A path far more befitting of the genius that is Charon!
It shouldn't, so long as he does so in an interesting manner.
[The young scientist listens intently, his smirk fading a bit as Charon goes on. Sure, it was nice that this guy wasn't a whack job like Cyrus (like Colress was one to talk), but this was all so...disappointing.]
I see. Unfortunately, unless I am mistaken in my thoughts, it seems our goals are worlds apart. It's quite a pity. You see, I do not wish to bring myself any sort of glory, whether it be deserved or otherwise. Instead, my one and only goal is to bring out the true power Pokemon possess in whatever way I can.
no subject
Is that so? Quite a pity. I cannot fathom any reason why one would turn down the opportunity for glory, particularly when they too have chosen the path of science.
But, I suppose that is fine. So long as your goal never comes into direct conflict with my own, I see no reason to dissuade you. Especially seeing as your aim is, admittedly, an interesting prospect in its own right.
Wow I am so late... (and I apologize for the tl;dr)
Regardless, Colress' smirk turns into an actual smile. It would appear this topic has got him excited.]
It's actually a rather simple reason, Charon. To put it as bluntly as I possibly can, I find science to be its own reward. The joy of finding a new discovery, the desire to keep searching for more answers in this world of ours, the sense of fulfillment you feel once a project has been completed, and the wondrous anticipation as you await the next part of your research or the next project in line to be started...tell me, what more could I ask for? In essence, what it boils down to is...
[He takes a deep breathe before continuing onward with his little speech. Perhaps...perhaps he got a bit too excited...]
Science gives my life purpose and meaning.
[Once that's out of the way, he pauses for a brief moment to let that all sink in. A few seconds at most, really. Charon is a scientist after all. He shouldn't need more than that to process such information. Besides, he's got to get his words ready for the next little "speech"...which actually causes his whole face to "light up".]
As for my aim...it is a rather interesting prospect, isn't it? So many people in this day and age use their Pokemon for day to day activities, whether it be for battling or companionship, yet they never allow such amazing creatures to unleash their full potential. I believe it's the job of humankind to help Pokemon unleash their true potential, no matter what the cost may be!

As for those plans... [cue diabolical grin] ... they bear the ultimate success in mind, and Team Galactic as well. Or at least, they should, provided that idiot grunt girl of mine remembers what her allegiance is.
no subject
And what is truly the ultimate to you?
no subject
Nothing that conflicts with your almighty vision, sir. The ultimate success is simply bringing about what should have always existed in the first place.
[Who, me, being intentionally vague around the boss? Nahhh, never.]
no subject
no subject
... simply for the masses to enter a state of awareness about who-- or what-- needs to ultimately be recognized.
no subject
Then tell me what you believe in. What do you believe about the world as a whole?
no subject
I believe that the world is painfully ignorant and foolish, and should learn to recognize a genius when they see one. Is that really such a difficult concept to grasp?
no subject
I see...No, it is not. Even a fool would understand what that means.

eeeee Mitsumi! <3 Alas, this guy's gameverse.
[He glances at her. Though her uniform is definitely Galactic, neither her face nor the outfit itself are familiar to him.]
I fail to understand why this would be such negative news to you, girl. Surely one who has donned the colors of Team Galactic, such as yourself, would be in favor of the arrival of their Commanders?
Glad to see you recognize her greatness.
Where I come from, you were infamous in Team Galactic. You weren't liked by anyone and stood for nothing but your own gain. You were a monster.
I, for one, am glad there are other folks who've read DPA.
Well, aren't you just an impertinent little brat? And I suppose your universe of origin sees you as an important member of the team, then?
Oh c'mon, you could not have thought you were the only one!
Well of course not, but I haven't met a whole lot of others who have!
Well, then. In that case, do forgive this oh so humble genius scientist for speaking out of line, Miss Cyrus-in-Training.
[He gives a little mock bow.]
I hear lots of Team Galactic fans have read it.
Oh, you are forgiven, Mister Team Rocket has-been. But this is only coming from a Cyrus-in-Training after all. Cyrus himself might not be so forgiving. Sorry 'bout that.
Indeed indeed.
I believe Cyrus would rather concern himself with important matters instead of policing his higher-ranked members. As long as the team effort remains cohesive, my word choice in conversation with a child who doesn't even exist in my universe is highly unlikely to have any bearing on my standing in the team.
Manga Team Galactic = Win.

[Sure, I snarked at him half the time and slacked off a quarter of the rest, but that's still one-quarter full of actual work done!]
no subject
In fact, don't forget it even when Cyrus isn't in charge. We wouldn't want Team Galactic to fall into terrible, incapable hands, now would we?
