While I appreciate this is something of an early Christmas gift to yourself - coming out of your 'brony closet' and getting back into RPing after nearly a year without it, I don't appreciate being pulled from my patients and rounds to come here for your amusement. Besides, if what that Twilight we met on LJ said is right, mixing past and future ponies could be dangerous.

Oh? My mother's here? Well, then, I'll have to stay for a bit, make sure she's doing alright. Perhaps it'll do her good to have some family here - wait. I'm from before she had me? That's... well, I still love her. The Great And Powerful Trixie is a Great and Powerful mother and unicorn.

Perhaps I can learn something about medicine here, too.

Well, you know I'm sure how ponies can come from the past or future here. So, through whatever magic muns use to do that, mine decided to place me here and now even though I'm from the future.

[This... is a huge shock to the showmare. She had never thought she would have a child. She didn't even allow herself to get close enough to someone to be able to have a child. What happens in the future that changes that?]

[She has no idea what to feel about this, but she lets him take her pulse.]

Yeah, Mom. You have a son. [He takes her pulse and huffs a small sigh of relieve.] Well, you're not going into physical shock, at least. Are you going to be aright?

[Trixie closes her eyes and breathes a little.]

What... Trixie wonders what happened for you to be born.

Well, you've never told me much about my father, and I didn't grow up with him. So I assume you met somepony wonderful, then when that didn't work out you decided to raise me yourself.

[He nuzzles his head to hers, briefly.] And you did a wonderful job. I wouldn't choose anypony else in all of Equestria for a mother.

[Trixie blinks again.]

Really...?

[Trixie instinctively flinches away, but since this is her son, HER SON, she forces herself to accept the nuzzle. She gives an unsure yet prideful smile. This is weird.]

W- well, The Great and Powerful Trixie is the most dazzling, awe-inspiring, and amazing equine to ever grace Equestria with her presence...!

You're the best mother a stallion could ask for. I wouldn't have ever had the confidence to even try my magic at all if you hadn't convinced me. You taught me so much, even if I don't use all of it in my current career field. To me, you're The Great And Powerful Mom. And even if this is weird for you... I'm really glad you're okay here.

[He hugs back, smiling. He knows it must be awkward for her, but Trixtan has always loved his mother. Anyone who badmouths her gets a face full of hoof.]

It's alright, Mom. Nopony expects you to just be fine with this. Give it time to sink in.

Well, I'm a doctor. And although it took three days with no sleep, my assistant and I were able to create an antidote for a previously lethal poison that many foals mistake as being an edible plant. I've written the formula down and mailponies should be making rounds to spread the news of how to make it to other doctors throughout Equestria soon.

[Please, please, please be proud of him. It's all his little workaholic heart wants. He tries not to look nervous.]

[Trixie doesn't allow anyone to badmouth her either, but instead of getting pain, they get embarrassed.]

...Okay. Trixie will allow herself the adequate amount of time for all this to... sink in.

[Trixie's sort of a workaholic, too, but at least she keeps her schedule time to relax and sleep. And go on adventures with someone from one of her favorite series of novels. While she's glad to hear that there's a cure for poison...]

You spent three days awake?

[trixtan]

I... well, yes, Mom. It was important work. A few skipped meals or nights working are worth it for the good of Equestria. Besides, I remembered to eat this time. I'm getting better.

[He's not taking bad care of himself. He's putting others' care first.]

[Trixie huffs a little. She feels annoyed at this and she doesn't know why. She's still going to tell her son how it goes.]

Trixie allows herself time enough in her schedule to sleep and eat. She approves not of skipping meals. Besides, if she were to die, she wonders how she could possibly dazzle everypony with her enticing stories of awe.

...She wonders how you are to cure everypony of vile illnesses if you starve to death.

[...WHY DOES SHE FEEL SO CONCERNED FOR THIS PONY? IS THIS WHAT BEING A MOTHER IS LIKE?]

Mom, you're in a different profession. I'm a doctor. Helping Equestria is my calling. Besides, my assistant's been helping me remember to eat. I just have so much work to do I forget sometimes.

[Nevermind he's got thin legs and a lanky build that shows just how little that's helped.]

[Trixie looks over his son. Yep, she sees all that skinny.]

The Great and Powerful Trixie demands you to begin working with a schedule that includes eating and sleeping.

But there's an epidemic of laudanum poisoning in Canterlot that I need to work on! I'll sleep when I've calculated the right dosage of Snowdrop extract can cleanse the watersource of it to prevent it from happening ever again.

...I had two tulips this morning. [That counts as a meal, right?]

[Trixie knows next to nothing about anything medical, but she still knows that an epidemic of poison is bad.]

Trixie is confounded as to how you would be able to work on such a cure if you are not alive to do so. She demands you to follow her. We're going to a restaurant right now.

[trixtan]

Mo-om. I'm not a little colt anymore. I'm perfectly capable of gauging my own health. [He rumbling stomach betrays him.] ...alright, a quick bite to eat. I suppose I can't work on a cure here anyhow.

Trixie deems you to be incapable of doing so, since you have to be reminded to eat and sleep.

[When she hears that rumbling stomach, her mouth twists into a smug smirk.]

See? The Great and Powerful Trixie knew fully well that you were in need of proper nutrition.

[trixtan]

Only when I'm working. I'm a doctor, I know what weight threshold is dangerous.

And does my Great and Powerful Mom have a suggestion?

Doctors are still in need of rest and food.

[Trixie thinks for a few seconds.]

...Trixie may have a few. She suggests we share a large bowl of pasta salad, along with a sandwich or two.

That sounds wonderful. I could use a chance to sit down and just spend time with you. Even when I was little and healing bunnies, you always did drag me in for lunch. Never change, Mom.

[Does... this mean that she's doing it right? Why is she even treating her son to lunch anyway? WHAT ARE THESE FEELINGS?]

But of course. The Great and Powerful Trixie always knows when to have lunch, and you will be able to inform her of things yet to come for her.

Well, there's going to be a point where you ingest laudnaum. Not a lethally, but it'll take you a month before you can use magic again. That's when I got my cutie mark - I used my magic to get your heart beating again and I kept you warm when you were shaking with cold.

[It's not a pleasant memory, but he nuzzles her affectionately.] You make it through like a champion. You were back to your normal magic levels in record breaking time; it's who you are. But Celestia help me, I just about went out of my mind trying to make sure you were okay.

Other than that, nothing bad ever happened. You have a good life. And a little fanclub... that hates me for not being the great showpony you are.
