It said quite plainly that the form a wizard takes when he becomes an animagus is a reflection of his personality. And you must admit, Wormtail is nothing if not as twitchy as a rat and Padfoot really is a big dog. So it looks like you are associated with deer. On some, you know, cosmic level or something.
