Long time no see - ... and don't think I don't notice that header up there, girl.
Weren't you the one that was spazzing out because of how things would be done no matter what part of the timeline I'm pulled from?
But whatever, I'm not the one dealin' with the headaches that comes with that decision, just ... the consequences. Sometimes I wonder why I even open my big fat mouth.
[Sigh.]
Let's just try and make the best of this, alright? Less headaches on both our ends.

Well, even past that.

Oh. You mean things like rescuing Sebastian Shaw? Technically twice if we count my game and in my actual world.

.... Wait whoa whoa whoa. Back up the funbus here. Why Shaw? Last time I remember that guy he wasn't exactly X-Men material.

Yeah. Sure. That was probably before Emma pretty much mindkilled him and left him barely more than a child mentally in the middle of a warzone. He's wiped, okay. He's not a threat to anyone.

... You guys are sure he's completely mindwiped, though? Wouldn't surprise me if someone like him's got a contingency plan or five up his sleeve with this.

The one you normally see 'round here hasn't gotten there yet, and maybe she never will. But it was only a little bit ago that another one came by, set an' determined to start the slaughter. I couldn't talk her out of it, I couldn't keep her from gettin' away...
It'd take a Nate to get through to that girl. Hell, you might've been a better option than the old one for doing that.

[Logically, it made sense. After all, Nate was able, with help, to prevent disaster that was apparently foreordained. Maybe he could do something here. But at the same time, he knew Hope's current position all too well. Attempts at influencing at every turn, the world against you.]
Only thing I can promise is that I'll help her. I'm not doing this for anyone else's sake, I'm doing this because she's family.

When you're a jacket-bearing member of the 'Screw Destiny' club, pragmatism tends to come pretty easy.]

But where her head's at now, instead of finding out she'd rather watch the world burn.
no subject
... yeah. That's a good start there.

[As much as he does actually care about his family, his half-brother and Scott sometimes didn't do the smartest of things.]
Dangerous spot. [Nate rubs a temple.] So then it's a matter of convincing her otherwise.

[He nods.]
Just avoid those places and your headaches shouldn't be as bad...
