You really think this place will be a good fit for me, huh? [ Audrey shakes her head, hands jammed into her coat pockets as she paces a couple steps. She chews the inside of her bottom lip for a moment, thinking.
She stops pacing, and it's obvious that something's occurred to her. She looks up. ]
There are people there- people who need my help?
[ Cue the deep frown. Then she smiles and chuckles quietly through her nose, running her fingers through her blond hair. ]
Well, all right then. I guess someone has to do it. And if no one else will-
[ She stops again, the smile faltering. Just for a moment. ] I guess it'll have to be me.
Again.
[ An eyeroll and a sigh. ]

You- [ She's wary. This guy reeks of Trouble. ] You don't really seem fine.
no subject
havent you talked to trolls before??
no subject
Like the kind that live under bridges? [ Her tone displays very obviously that she doesn't think that's what he means, but that's about all she's got. ]
no subject
am aliien
am perfectly normal for
correctiion::
honestly doubt there =iis= normal for speciies
no subject
Alien, huh? [ Maybe he has a Trouble like Wesley had? Part of her - a really big part - hopes not. That was a bad one, but the mention of aliens has her wondering.
After she hears the rest of what he has to say, she blinks, nodding slightly. ]
Well, I can definitely agree with that. [ Audrey can't think of a single person she knows who would be considered normal. ]
Are you- [ She stops for a moment, thinking over her next words. ] Are you already in that city?
no subject
liive in casualty communal
iis only human world am famiiliiar wiith
though know there are many
but all trolls have ever met are from own world
or variiatiions of iit
no subject
She nods when he's finished. There's an idea forming, working its way through the gears, and she can't help but ask. ]
Okay, so. You're an alien, right? [ She pauses a moment. ] Do you know anything about The Hunter? It's a meteor shower.
no subject
but iis unliikely knew iit by same name even iif exiisted iin own world
why diid you say ''agaiin'' before??
no subject
That makes sense. Thanks anyway.
[ Her smile fades a little, and she continues to look everywhere except at him. ] It's nothing. [ Still a bad liar, Audrey, she reminds herself. No matter where she goes or who she is, she knows she'll never be good at hiding what she's really feeling. It's a little funny, the idea that someone so hard to figure out would also be that transparent.
She clears her throat. ] So- How many variations of the world do you know of? [ She isn't surprised by parallel universes. Little surprises her anymore. Audrey vaguely wonders if she's in any of the other universes too. Maybe as only one person. A nice thought. ]
no subject
but assume you dont want to talk about iit
are many variiatiions of human world
dozens
are even humans iin world come from
though never met any untiil left iit
no subject
[ It takes her another moment to really get the rest of it down, but she nods once she does. ] What world do you come from?
no subject
dont remember iif ever diid diifferently
dont thiink diid
have never cared much for pretendiing
own world iis called alterniia
have seen most of iits hiistory
no subject
Alternia, huh? [ She shakes her head and clears her throat. ] Never heard of it
[ Then her brow furrows, and she looks up at Psii again. ] How is you've seen most of its history? You don't- [ A little pang. ] You don't seem that old...
no subject
approxiimately 26 years iin human terms
but have liived much longer than that
thats why dont remember a lot
was spaceshiip for a long tiime
no subject
And then she stops, the last part dawning on her.
Turning her head, her mouth opens slightly, her nose scrunched and her eyes narrowed. Obviously she doesn't know what to make of what Psii's just said. ]
You were a... What?
[ Sometimes her hearing can be off, but she doesn't think this is one of the times. Figures, she thinks. ]
no subject
correctiion::
would be more accurate to say was cpu of spaceshiip
was powerful mage iin own world
trolls wiith powers liike own were forced iinto serviice to empiire
no subject
... Okay, she's done. Now on to business.
She can follow the rest pretty well. CPU is a computer term, she knows, though she can't come up with anything more than that. Mage would be... like a wizard. Or something.
Audrey shakes her head, smiling, as the information processes. ] You're a very interesting person, from the sound of it. Are all- Are all trolls this intriguing?
no subject
am not that iinterestiing eiither
best friiend iis much more so
hope you can meet hiim iif you come to death ciity
no subject
Maybe Death City won't be so bad. ]
I'd like that, Mister... [ She frowns when she realizes that she never did catch his name. ]
no subject
no miister

no subject
Well, it's very nice to meet you, Psii. I'm Audrey Parker, Haven PD.
