Do not place so much doubt in me.
I ask little of you, scribe. Only that you trust me on my quest with the other dwarves and the hobbit. I must face the dragon Smaug and get back what is rightfully mine and the dwarven people. Eridor. I understand you have doubts but we are a hardy race and will pursue our goal. We cannot fail.

I understood that when I decided he would go. As for the young Master Baggins, you would be very surprised. He will find his way, and quickly too.

I truth your judgement, Gandalf but I cannot ignore the burden in my heart. A gut feeling, if you like. As for the Hobbit, I will go by what you say and ignore the ill feeling that washes over me. [He will have to.]

You fear something untoward will happen towards the hobbit when you least expect it?

Of course. I bare pride in my homeland and the weapon within my hand.
