A-again?  I don't know if I like this idea.  I remember the last time.  You had my heart torn out, there was the time in the torture chamber, and the time I was Professor Stein's weapon and accidentally gave him a migraine.  It's just such a terrible place and if Jin-ho isn't going to be there --

Wait, what?  I won't remember anything?

I think that's the cruelest idea you've had yet.  What about Maka?  And Allen?  And Sora and Roxas and Sasha and all of my other friends that are still there? 

I know I can't stop you, but I hope you change your mind.  But if I have to go, at least I can help Maka.

It's...strange. I'm in a place called "Nautilus". Black*Star got here not too long ago, and Soul might be coming, too.

I'm glad you have friends with you, they can make all the difference. How is Black*Star handling things?

You lose your powers there and have to use a skill called Bending to get them back along with being able to warp reality to be able to do things you want. It's all training to help keep the multiverse behaving the way it should. As time goes on, you can become stronger in order to be a more active part in the overall mission.

Of course, there are some side effects. And Nautilus likes to think he's funny.

That sounds interesting, and very important! Trying to keep the multiverse together and training to get stronger.

He does? Oh. [There's a bit of a smile, though it's not an overly happy one.] I miss him, too. It's harder to go into such a dangerous place knowing my partner won't be there.

In some ways it's like home, but in others, it just doesn't make any sense. Like we had killer reindeer and other winter holiday paraphernalia last week.

...It's complicated. Nautilus isn't just a place. He's an Aeon, basically a godlike being of incredible Bending ability. They create each of the worlds in the multiverse.

[Nods grimly. Liz and Patty aren't there, after all.]

It's interesting. So it's kind of like a god, and you all live on it? And there are several of them?

[And he nods.] Well, not several. Apparently, there aren't as many as there once was. But there are a few still out there.

How do you . . . what do you do with killer reindeer?

That's very odd. But I guess it's not that much odder than a space station full of clones from other worlds being experimented on, when you really think about it.

Kill them before they kill you, mostly. I've managed to create inferior copies of Liz and Patty. They're just a pair of pistols that can shoot my soul wavelength, but they can't change into humans and there's no way to use Soul Resonance due to a lack of souls of their own.

Clones from other worlds?

How can you make copies? A weapon that's not a person.

It's really complicated. There are a lot really weird things and a lot of people from different worlds.

It's using the "Bending" power I mentioned. I wanted a pair of pistols like Liz and Patty, and that's the closest I managed to get.

Same in Nautilus. That seems to be a constant.

Oh, okay. It's good that you've been able to find a way to work until you're back with your partners.

It does seem to be a constant. I like meeting a lot of people from different worlds. That's the one part that I'm actually looking forward to.

It does make me a little less useless. I can fight unarmed, but having range as well helps.

I'm sure you'll do all right on that front, Tsubaki. Though I hope your mundane grants you some mercy.

You're never useless, Kid. You're a very smart and powerful guy. Though an increase in range would definitely help.

I hope she does, but I don't have a lot of hope. She didn't show much last time.
