My plans are always subject to change, Mr Holmes. Try it; it's how I make sure boredom doesn't catch up with me. Still, I'm sure it doesn't matter where I go—you're never going to be quite shot of me.

I thought as much. I should warn you, one can't always be there to keep you alive when your pursuers find out you are not, in fact, deceased.

I hardly think anyone else capable.

I heard you were writing sad music. I never got to hear.

[Drat, you have him there.] The violin is a distraction. [And a nice one.]

So I was. It fit the mood at the time. [But was he really sad? Or just part of an act?]
